Visiting town, my wife & I heard so much about this restaurant, we had to experience it. We were super excited and ordered our food. It took quite a while, other people were frustrated already waiting longer than us, some left. Then finally came my food (around 40 mins wait), it looked beautiful, colorful and tasty! But my wife's food never came. When we inquired after 20 more minutes, the woman responded it was already served (??!!). She must be mistaken, as there was only one dish served. So we apologetically called her over again. She then said that both orders were on the same plate that was handed to me.My wife is a vegetarian, I am not. It has never been a problem throughout our entire life. My plate was full of meat. My wife felt so bad but explained with such a burden to the lady owner that she is a vegetarian and clearly that is the reason we have two separate orders (no need to even explain...really), and kindly to respect her wish, her diet. The woman (the owner) got suddenly so angry and shouted in our face in front of everybody "RESPECT? I AM A MUSLIM ! I AM A MUSLIM, I AM A MUSLIM !!" She repeated 3 times!...(Ok, so...Wonderful... But that is totally besides the point...??!).She grabbed an empty plate from the kitchen ran back to our table, and with her dirty bare hands, no gloves (she had those 10 fingers Everywhere from her mouth to her nose to her hair), she dove those 2 dirty hands into my plate and grabbed the Vegetarian cabbage roll bathing in meat sauce from my food and slammed it on the empty plate and said to my wife " Now I separate ".We were besides ourselves, and all the tables staring at us with shocked faces. The food was well overpriced at $76, we left $100 bill and escaped this nightmare for good.Vegetarian options: This restaurant has no etiquette about vegetarian option whatsoever.Dietary restrictions: The restaurant owner lady does not respect people's dietary restrictions and mixes all our orders in one. Absolutely crazy.

Go elsewhere. The food quality has plummeted, if prior reviews are accurate. The service was awkward and inconsistent. None of the dishes we ordered were the high quality we expected. We spent $75 on lamb that was so gamey and poorly cooked it was inedible. The spinach pita we ordered did not look like the beautiful rolled baked goods in review photos and instead resembled the frozen triangles you get from a grocery store frozen section. Similarly, the vegetables on the cabbage rolls were clearly from a frozen veggie mix, containing a mix of baby carrots, snow peas, and peppers. The bread we received for the appetizer plate was cheap grocery store bakery bread. The service was also terrible. The older woman, who I think is the owner, bad talked the young woman that took our order, saying they she hadn't taken the order down correctly even though she had. Overall, it was expensive and disappointing.

If I could give this restaurant less stars I would. It was like a stepping into an episode of Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. We had a group of five and the total with tip was $218. Super over priced. The lamb tasted like mutton and was purple when you cut into it. Incredibly tough and gamey. The veggie cabbage rolls had a mix of disgusting veggies that made no sense. Snow peas? The rice was gloppy and tasteless. The tomato salad had a 3 cheese Kraft blend sprinkled on top def came with watered down Kraft ranch on top. All of the tapenades tasted like jarred or canned. There were no redeeming qualities about this meal and I will continue to worry about what their kitchen actually looks like. If I had to guess most of the food was microwaved.

We had a lovely intimate dinner and met the chef! The lamb was delicious as were the cabbage rolls and serviced with fruit and salad. Easy access in the quaint Astoria downtown core.

A small focused menu true to the Bosnian heritage of the owner. All the food was beautifully prepared, the lamb chops were amazingly tender and flavorful, the beef stew meat was tender, juicy, and the broth well seasoned. The small cold meat and pepper appetizer was plated nicely. The owner was warm and welcoming, the wait staff familiar.Dietary restrictions: Almost everything is gluten free as an integral part of each appetizer and entre except the filo pastry of the pita and baklava

We've been here a couple of times and the food is amazing. The menu isn't the largest, but what they do have is well done. I've had the lamb and the egg/cheese pie, I highly recommend both.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I should have read the one star reviews, but they had over a 4.5 rating, which blows my mind. First of all, they didn't have the veggie cabbage rolls or baklava. We decided to get the cheese and spinach pie because the pictures looked pretty good. We also ordered a flavored, sparkling mineral water and a soda. The server whispered "Jesus Christ..." under his breath. The owner came over while I was in the middle of drinking my drink and told me that the server didn't give me a ladie's glass, to which she brought me back a small wine goblet with a quarter amount of the drink that I had previously been drinking. She patted me on the back and told me, "there you go," as if I should be happy that she took 3/4 of my drink from me?? Then she brought out an accompaniment to the dish and asked me if I was vegetarian like my husband and I said "yes." She said "good, because I would be afraid to serve someone like YOU meat." Maybe she was trying to be nice, but it really didn't seem that way, especially when she looked me up and down and patted my shoulder again. The last straw for me was when they brought out our entree. It looked like the freezer section spanakopita appetizers that you can get from a grocery store. They tasted worse than those somehow. They looked nothing like the pictures, just 6 typical, tiny triangles. I asked my husband if he wouldn't mind paying for the meal so I could walk to the car, rather than getting more frustrated. All in all, the experience was a total waste of $40. Don't waste your time here.

The food is just amazing in both taste and presentation. The staff often take the time to come and chat with the guests, something that has sadly vanished from most establishments. Have been here a few times, with family and friends and have loved the experience every time. The service may be a bit slow as others have mentioned, but I think we all need to relearn how to have a relaxed meal, another thing that has gone missing! Will be back soon :) A
