We were referred to Ship Out by the gals at the Astoria Column and in the mood for a drive and something 'eclectic ' we took their advise. Not only were we delighted with the food, but the funky ambiance on a rainy day was delightful! After enjoying a great lunch, bellys' full and looking to get on the road, I left, leaving my handbag behind. 4 hrs later and that far away I discovered my loss. I quickly sent a message to their website and within an hour, they reassured me that they had it and would get it back to me, which they did by shipping it home and the rest of my journey was carefree. Is the service there outstanding? YES, in every way! Would I recommend this restaurant? Yes! again! When in Astoria, try Ship Out!

7 minutes drive out from the city, across a bridge, worth the drive but pricy $$-$$$, $28 four piece halibut fish-and-chips probably good for two to share. Don’t miss out the seafood chowder, bid chunk of seafood, I mean whole piece big not in pieces. By the way, no alcohol offered here, no IPA so a small disappointment.Just an update to share that we came again to find only Tuesday they make seafood chowder.

Way to expensive for simple fish & chips, but it was good. If you're grease intolerant, I wouldn't recommend.Wheelchair accessibility: We were disappointed with accessibility

This is an interesting experience for sure. We ordered the full order of halibut fish and chips and a bowl of chowder. We each took a bite of the chowder then tossed it. The fish had a good texture and the breading was crispy. It smelled a little too fishy to be fresh, but was okay. While there they brought in the latest order of frozen halibut and shrimp. Definitely better than home cooked frozen, but not quite as good as fresh caught and served.

Delicious halibut fish and chips! Came out hot and fresh. Loved the fries-good flavor and awesome texture. Took my grandpa and he enjoyed it very much. It was expensive, but it was also great quality.

So this was the best fish and chips I’ve had. So good that we tried to go back next day, but they’re closed Mondays ??.The prices are SUPER fair and their sides are excellent as well. Stop here before paying tourist prices further down south.Casual and kid friendly, too!

Finally got to Ship Out last week. It's fried seafood. I had the 'platter' (can't remember what they call it). One piece of each fried piece of seafood (I think it was halibut, cod, oyster, scallop, calamari and shrimp). $26 The shrimp was probably the best piece. The fries had that 'breading or coating' on them. There were a LOT of fries - twice as much as I would have needed. The coleslaw was unimpressive. $3 for a 12 oz can of soda. I doubt I'll drive out there again. But if you like that breading a lot of places put on their fries, you'll love Ship Out - you get a LOT of them.
