Great ice cream! However, this place really missed an opportunity to create a space where people can gather or "hang out". The space feels like a warehouse and the set up seems to encourage people to LEAVE as soon as they are finished paying! The signage and line-markers seem to usher people in and out and discourage anyone from lingering inside. Even the bathrooms discourage people from attempting to use them, with big signs that say you must ask for a key to use them - which can be very impractical if the staff is busy serving customers! Even though Handles does not provide much seating indoors, this could have been remedied by providing more places to sit and hang out OUTDOORS, since this is an establishment that serves a product that can be more popular when the weather is warm outside and it's pleasant to sit outside. There is only one table and one bench that are uncomfortably close to one another so that if different groups wanted to gather at the same time, they are still in each other's "bubble" and cannot conversate without being overheard or intrusive to others. This was an exciting new addition to Bend but it's turned out to be a huge disappointment because it's not a place I can hang out at with my friends or family.

Ice cream is delicious, but the wait time was ridiculous. This is for the owner/manager: HIRE MORE EMPLOYEES AND PRIORITIZE IN-HOUSE customers before making online orders! The employees were very nice but they were overworked. Stop being cheap and hire more employees!

I'm really happy we have a Handel's in Bend. Great ice cream quality, flavor, choices, hours, and service! What more can you ask for. This isn't really a place to order and eat inside, although there are a couple of areas but more geared for take-out. I like all the different choices, and they are always rotating. Even shakes, rootbeer floats, and different ice cream options outside of single scoops. My favorite ice cream option in town.

Clean environment, huge portions, and delicious homemade ice cream. Honestly can't beat it. Been here multiple times and always very good. If you know you know. The root bear float is the best float I've had in my life ngl. They use the GOOD root beer, and with that homemade ice cream.
The kids love coming here and it’s great. The main downside is I’ve only ever seen one person working which makes the line go incredibly slow. Also wish there was more indoor seating because it’s a huge space but only 4 seats.

Cannot see the menu while waiting your turn. Cannot see the full menu when you make it to the front especially if you are on one edge or the other. Ended up ordering a chocolate shake out of haste since I couldn't see the whole menu. It was good but I later learned they had Horchata ice cream which I would have much preferred. Kid helping us was not unfriendly but not friendly either. Just a blank stare and robot like mannerisms. No place to sit inside so I froze my rear end off sitting outside since I don't want to eat ice cream in my brand new truck. Place is clean though. I'll try again when the weather warms up.

The young woman who served us was so helpful and friendly. The ice cream is delicious. Lots of flavors to choose from, and you can sample them. Prices are great too! I'd like to see some table inside though but the stools were okay. No loud music so we liked it!Wheelchair accessibility: No steps and lots of space indoor.

We’ve tried this establishment 3 times and every time was bad customer service. The first time the line was huge but no one was taking orders despite there being 5 people standing around. We stood first in line for 20 minutes without anyone taking our order. The second time was ok so we tried for a third visit. The door said they closed at 10 so we assumed that was accurate when we entered at 9:20. At 9:40 we were very rudely kicked out. It looks like they do close at 9:30 based on the Google hours but this wasn’t clear to us because the hours on the door were wrong. I get that they wanted us to leave but the way it was done was extremely abrupt and rude. Expect ok icecream and bad customer service if you come here.
