It was really good except we ordered the chicken basket. And the breast wasn't cooked through. but It could have been because the bartender kept adding more orders to the boaster. Before closing it.

Patrons were cool, beer was decent, hot dog was a hot dog. Woman who served me was excessively standoffish, rude, made me not feel welcome. Left pretty quick. Also the music sucked

Ok place, old & a little bit run down & seating is Extremely limited & parking is a little hard to find because the establishment sits on the corner of a busy street... I took a star away from the food because I ordered the broasted chicken & it was supposed to come with JoJo's & it didn't come with Any sides at all & $16.50 is a lot of money for just chicken... They had only 2 bartenders & the place was packed & you had to go up to the bar to order your drinks... They did, however, have a Great band playing that night... The name of the band is 'Chained to Stone'... They played a lot of '80s & '90s style of music like Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots etc...(see the connection? ?) I would only go back there again if the band was playing there again & I would make sure that I wasn't hungry... ?

I've been in here a couple times and it's always a blast. Service is good and bar tenders are awesome. I went in before a concert across the street and naturally the bar was slammed. They worked hard to keep up, but I feel like they need a server well or something to help guests and the staff to keep up with the demand and taking people in the order they show up. Still my favorite bar in bend!

Traveling often brings a sense of homesickness and disconnection, making the discovery of a local haunt that echoes the comfort of home all the more essential. For me, M&J Tavern was that sanctuary. My search for such a place began at the popular Descuhets Brewery, where I sought recommendations from the bartenders on their preferred hangouts. M&J Tavern was a name that came up repeatedly, and it certainly lived up to its high praise. The moment I stepped into M&J Tavern, I was enveloped in its cozy, familiar ambiance. It's a haven not just for John Wayne aficionados and live music lovers, but also for those who appreciate a fine selection of tequila. Amidst this welcoming setting, two incredible bartenders, Kayla and Aranda, greeted me. Their attentive service was impeccable, ensuring my glass remained full while their friendly banter contributed greatly to the tavern's inviting atmosphere. In quieter moments, they moved with purposeful energy, eagerly welcoming and serving new arrivals with the same enthusiastic warmth that had so endeared them to me. Kayla and Aranda's extraordinary service was the highlight of my visit. They were more than just bartenders; they were the embodiment of hospitality in an unfamiliar city. Kayla's infectious energy and quick wit kept the conversations engaging, while Aranda's intuitive service meant my needs were met before I even had to ask. Together, they performed a symphony of efficiency and warmth, their teamwork akin to a well-choreographed dance. Their genuine smiles, contagious laughter, and delightful jokes added to the tavern's charm, making every patron feel valued and seen. Thanks to Kayla and Aranda, M&J Tavern was transformed from just another bar into an integral and unforgettable part of my journey. Their exceptional service and genuine care have firmly imprinted this tavern in my memory and guaranteed my return. M&J Tavern is more than a mere tavern; it's a gem of hospitality and warmth in a city far from home, a place that resonated deeply with me. I eagerly look forward to my next visit!

Read some angry reviews...so we decided to try. Look it's a dive bar. Two bartenders tonight and they are working their butts off. There's no bar back, no cook but these two ladies are rocking it. They are smiling and hard ass workers. Deep fried bar food, pool tables, AMI juke box and 150 plus tequilas available. Welcoming, fairly priced, don't listen to the bad reviews. Someone was just cranky that day!

Mellow spot next door to a coin op laundry. I kill a few brain cells while washing the giant comforter while improving my 8 ball. Friendly tunes on the box for us old farts. Good chicken, too.
