Honest opinion: I hated the beers but only got the iPas. Kind of dumb of move at a German themed bar. This place Is still out of this world! We saw many breweries in bend and the people are overall very nice. However this bartender younger guy early 20s was literally the nicest server we had in our entire week long trip. A true gentlemen and scholar if I must say!The decorations are awesome with German mugs on the wall and a awesome theme throughout the place.

Amazingly good German style beers and fuzzy spot in which to enjoy them!

A pleasure to step back in time to a little bit of old Bavaria. This tiny microbrewery is serving great German biers from an antique looking tap along with a variety of IPAs. Decorated in old-school German fashion, flocked wallpaper, amber hanging glass lamps, old-time framed pictures all add warmth to this little brewhaus. The lager, pilsner and"black bier" all taste authentic. A few cozy booths and a six stool bar inside, and outside seating in warmer weather sin a large tent and a food truck is near serving hearty sandwiches. Well worth the "hunt" to find this little out of the way place. Use your GPS. Al vita Zein!

Their beer is great. Pilsner for my wife and IPA for myself. The one food cart has a tasty Tri-tip Philly. One downside is that dogs owners, and I mean big dogs, are encouraged. You can't navigate to a table or out the door without your crotch and butt being nuzzled. Kinda wrecks the experience.

An excellent addition to the Bend beer scene. Several German beers that were crisp and refreshing, perhaps some of the best Germans I've had. A couple IPA's too. Pub setting that is adult only, and dog friendly. You walk in and get transformed into a simple, inviting German pub. Low lit and mild music playing in the background where you want to sit and talk over a beer. Service was great. Food truck out front that could be appetizers or a full meal. Prices are as expected and ample parking is available.

Once again the Bend, Oregon area continues with it's superb brewery community and good, quality beers. Van Henion seems to be a newer brewery that has arrived to the city (or at least to me it is going off of my last visit). Steve and I had the fabulous Helles Lager which was so good! As time has gone on we have steadily become lager heads or "light beer heads" as they go down smooth and the crushable quality is appreciated. This Helles Lager we were very impressed by and I gave a high score on Untappd for this beer so in turn I give a high score on Yelp. With this lager flavors are sweet, malty, crisp, clean and biscuity flavors. All very typical highlights of a Helles but it is undeniable that the balance is masterful in handling it's flavor highlights. Truly a fantastic Helles Lager!

Just had a can of each of their three different beers. So good.!!! I am German and Irish. I know a great beer when I drink one. Please send it to Portland/ Vancouver. Pretty please! I don't want to drive to Bend to get it!
