Best Mexican in town, and maybe on the south coast. Easy to find near the first traffic light on 101 coming from the south. A small privately owned and operated, very sweet place with good cooking and good service by a Mex/ American family with roots in Mexico. They do real carnitas, a good chile verde, and many other things. This family took over from the previous operation about 18 months ago during the pandemic. They have grown the business, and it’s one of my favorite places to eat.

This is where the locals go to eat. Definitely the best Mexican food we’ve had in all our travels. If you go anywhere near Coos Bay, this is a must to have lunch or dinner. The only challenge is finding parking, but it’s worth the walk across the street if necessary. Oh and the prices are amazing. 3 of us filled up for what it cost for “crab fries “ at a seafood restaurant the other day. On a final note, the people there were like family (the ones we get along with). We felt very at home there and look forward to our next visit! Thanks!

My family and I went out for dinner looking for a Mexican place. We have been on vacation this week and have visited over 10 places.Playa Del Sol doesn't look like much from the outside, in fact we almost left before coming in to eat. Man am I glad we decided to stay and eat. This was one of the most fresh and best Mexican restaurants that we've had in years. The salsa was perfect. We had fajitas, a chimichanga, and a chalupa. It was seasoned perfectly and tasted WONDERFUL. We followed up with some fried ice cream. All of the food was some of the best Mexican food I've had in years. On top of that, the staff was very friendly. It was evident that it was owned and ran by a family. They were personable and went above and beyond to ensure we had a good experience.Although we live over 7 hours away, any time we are driving through, you can count on us stopping to have a meal. THANK YOU for a wonderful experience.

This is the best Mexican food you will ever eat, hands down. I must have eaten at a hundred Mexican restaurants, from New York to Seattle to Santa Fe to Mexico itself, and only a couple have come even remotely close to the quality of the food here. The prices are low, the quantities are generous, and the family that runs it is one of the kindest around. Treat yourself to this. You won't regret it.

A somewhat campy Mexican joint with outstanding food and service. Family run - grandpa cooks, grandma and the kids wait tables. They have a good selection of beers and tequilas. It's not a martinin lounge. Chile verde & carnitas are the best anywhere, including Sonora, MX. Prices reasonable, portions generous. Buen provecho!
