I am a former Starbucks Partner and Coffee Master and was absolutely appalled by the how I was treated and the service at this Starbucks this morning, especially from the store manager. First off, I just came in to break a bill to get some ones and I just got out of the hospital and needed to get change for the bus. I said I needed change and the manager called me homeless and said I could go beg outside with the others. I was taken back and was like whoa lady I have money just no ones. Then the manager said I had to purchase something to get change then made a snide comment under her breath about how "these people are trashing our city" so I pulled out a larger bill from out my wallet ordered two shots of espresso and a ice water and said "I've just left the hospital" to her with my arm in a sling and both hands bandaged in gauze. "Sorry, I wasn't really expecting to go to the ER and didn't realize my presentation at your Starbucks wasn't up to your standards or liking but I just needed some one ones for the bus to go back home."The manager continued to have attitude with me and asked me to sit down and at this point I'm just standing minding my own business looking out the window waiting for my drink. Why do I have to sit down? She said "so other people could get their drinks" and I'm standing about 4 feet away from where the barista puts the drinks. Really? I get my drink and pour the espresso into the ice water making myself an iced Americano and she tells me I can't do that and they have to charge me another dollar for labor. I laughed and said you've put more effort into being rude to me and trying to embarrass me than I've seen you work in the short time I've been here and now you want me to give you another dollar after I already paid and you originally told me to go beg outside. You can go kick rocks.

Starbucks presents a powerful argument for the third place idea. They equip artists, professionals, and families to have a home away from home in which to spend time, play a card game, and relax together.

I come here to study. They have a good amount of seating and charging spots. There is a little crew of homeless people that hangout by the entrance that can be a little distracting at times but seem like good people.

This was the highlight of our trip back home (October 4-7). Each morning shortly after opening we showed up here for Coffee Mocha, the gal (2) who opened each morning, at 5:30, one who took our order, and one who served were both so kind and gracious. This was a very stressful trip for us with my father's illness, traveling, we were not able to make our own fresh ground, french press at home so we stopped in here where we were able to slowly wake up and watch the locals come and go. We stayed in a Hotel nearby, and were able to walk in, weather beautiful, no rain. I was born in Corvallis, this used to be Penny's, or adjoining, bought all my 501's here, across the street is the Whiteside Theater where one could enjoy many a feature, and across from that was Frederick & Nelson where one could buy high-end clothing and houseware, neighborhood of charmed memories. The experience each day for 4 mornings helped us through our days and will remain the highlight of our trip! (As for our clothing? Yes, I do work for Polo Ralph Lauren at Santa Fe) Thank you Starbucks, you rule!

Terribly inefficient operation for a Starbucks. I waited 32 minutes between the time my hot drinks were ready until they could reach into the bakery case for an unwarmed blueberry muffin.

The atmosphere was fun and quirky but it took a long time to get our drinks and when we did they were not full and my frappuccino was so heavily whipped creamed that it was white in color and it was all i could taste. Its not as convenient but the fred meyer location may be a better bet for a quality
