Didn't eat here but the bartender was very kind and helpful. Came to play pool. Buck a game on some rough tables with only two usable sticks to choose from. Big space to meet friends and have a drink. Large draft list. Good sized covered/heated outdoor area too.

Not only is the vibe here great, but the large soft pretzals are bomb af, they actually have decent meat alternative options, and the owners are solid human beings who take care of people in their community. I live in Coos Bay, but my husband and I love to stop for a bite when we are in town.

Read about what you did for the homeless. What a great thing, thank you. While a lot of churches lock their doors, as people freeze, your bar rises up to help!

Havnt been in to the store in 20 years but I saw they are letting homeless folks sleep on their heated patio during this awful winter storm, so five stars for their huge giving hearts

Had some drinks and played games here a while back, great drinks and great staff, plus felt safe and had lots of fun there. Also seeing how much they care about their community during the freezing, deadly temps is really heart warming. Really nice to see them lending a helping hand, so selfless ?

Great experience at Big City! Went for a game and had a plethora of TVs and great drinks. Bar food was excellent, highly recommend the chopped cheese! Would absolutely go back and one of the better bars in Eugene!

(Response to the owner's reply: We visited Friday evening, October 6th.)Has definitely gone downhill compared to how it used to be. The one bartender working was outside with her friends most of the night & not attentive to patrons needing

First visit ever to TRY to watch a football game. The audio for the game was not great, only made worse by:The place is crawling with kids who are essentially unsupervised minors and SCREAMING at each other.A bunch of single man-spreaders hogging larger booths outside made it darn near impossible to even try to get out of the screaming child zone. That's just inconsiderate. (Not the bars fault, but if you are one of these people: do better! At least share with a couple other singles!)The food itself from the bar was pretty amazing bar food! The carts outside are a nice touch. THAT is where the pizza comes from, not BC.

My previous two visits these past couple of months have been a disappointment. But I'll share the positives before the negatives.- The atmosphere. It's a good-looking bar. Nice lighting, plenty of seats, great outdoor patio area with heaters, lots of TVs, and clean.- The staff. Always friendly and helpful. They'll ask how your day is going and leave the bar area to check on you and ask if they can get you anything. Every employee I've interacted with has been great.- The food. Can feel a little pricey (what doesn't these days), but if you get past the sticker shock it's a step up from typical bar food in terms of options and quality, and it's consistently tasty each time. Now on to the not great stuff.- The sports viewing experience.I dropped in to watch the USWNT in the World Cup and was disappointed to see the staff were not aware a match was about to begin. Additionally, they didn't have a cable package that supported the broadcast. To be fair, I believe this is more the symptom of a bigger problem with prioritizing women's sports (and how TV networks gate content) than the actual fault of the bar. But at the end of the day, I went to a sports bar to watch a high profile sporting event, and could not do so. I went to the Pint Pot instead to watch the game.My next visit was for the Ducks opener vs. Portland State. This one surprised me. They had the game up on almost all of their TVs, but the game audio was only coming out of a single, small speaker in the middle of the bar. I opted to sit on the couches toward the back of the bar, and couldn't hear the broadcast. I asked the staff if there was any way to get the other speakers going, and they couldn't figure out how to make it work. Sure, I could have moved, but I should also be able to have a great viewing experience anywhere in the bar.A group came in later and started shooting pool, playing Duck Hunt and arcade basketball. Totally fine, that's their prerogative. The noise from these machines completely drowned whatever little game audio there was, and it was at this point that I left.I want to recommend this place, as there is a lot to like. But it doesn't feel like the sports viewing experience is a priority right now - even a Ducks game.TL;DR: If you're just looking for a bar, you'll be happy. If you're looking for a place to watch a game, I'd go elsewhere. Thanks for reading!
