it took me a several months to get around to this review, but no I wouldn't recommend it because of the owner. I briefly knew the person in charge, and when I shared on my social media that I'm nonbinary and go by they/them pronouns, he felt a need to criticize my (someone they hardly knew) pronouns, and then when I called him out about making it about what he thinks even though he's biased, he tokenized an employee by saying he is inclusive because he respected a trans employee's pronouns. for this reason, I wouldn't ever go there. they don't deserve the money. hope this perspective helps others make their decision to go or not.

This place is really good, I actually am not a vegan but I LOVE the vegan food here. Really tasty and fulfilling. The Kava is great! I like to go here and have some nutritional food and kava when I am being good to my body! CAnt wait for COVID to let up so I can come back!

Truly bummed. Made a special trip just to go to this place and it's closed for good. The Flower Lyfe cannabis place next door was active and a bunch of homeless people were sitting out front of where the entrance to this place would have been.

I love this kava bar. the food and kava are both great. I like ordering the avocado toast. its not a basic avo toast that you make at home. its very good.

This is one of the few pre-coronavirus spots in town that I visited on a regular basis, and as soon as we get the all-clear I'll be right back at the bar. Food is delightful, the kava is delicious, the kava tenders are all so lovely to hang with, can't wait to get back!!

Very disappointed by the management here. Kava is a plant from the Pacific Islands that is deeply honored by the cultures from which it traditionally originates from. I would hope that anyone serving Kava in the states would at the very least hold respect for the energetic & spiritual qualities it offers. This is essential to sharing sacred plant medicines from indigenous cultures that we don't belong to. Instead, I witnessed a male bartender (who I assume to be the manager) spending his time rudely gossiping about other people & expressing disdain for spirituality. No individual needs to consider themselves "spiritual" to enjoy Kava. However, if you cannot honor the energetics that are inherent in the qualities & traditions of Kava, you are not meant to serve it- much less capitalize off it. Further, this behavior affects the purity of Kava's energy & can significantly affect the experience of patrons drinking it. If you are seeking Kava truly served with integrity, visit Nalu Kava Bar in Portland. You & the Kava medicine will be much better taken care of there.

This place is awesome. The food was great, the service was really great, The atmosphere was refreshing for downtown. I’ll definitely be back!

I love going here for kombucha as it's the only "sober" bar in Eugene. I've had the food here and it's been super hit or miss for me personally - some times I've been and it's phenomenal, sometimes I can't eat more than a few bites. My girlfriend won't eat here anymore because she got food poisoning the first time we got food here. It's my go to spot for hanging out but if you're looking for a vegan meal you're much better off going two doors down to Spectrum.

I just had the best broccoli cheddar soup of my life that wasn't my mom's (before becoming vegan). It's so good I NEED the recipe! The salad was a feast for the eyes and a delight for the tastebuds, you're really eating a work of art. The meatball sandwich was just as delicious. The quality and flavor of the food was amazing. It doesn't matter if you're vegan or not, everyone should try this place if you love great food at a good price. This isn't a kava bar that has good food, this is a great restaurant that has good kava!

This is one of our favorite places in Eugene. Top quality kava, not to mention the food is AMAZING. We aren't even vegan but we love coming here for a bite to eat, magnificent sandwiches, they also have kombucha on tap. Everyone who works at lovakava is so friendly and knowledgeable. If you have never tried kava and are looking for a great experience THIS IS THE PLACE TO COME. It's also just a great place to have some lunch, and relax if you aren't into trying kava. Wonderful ambiance and again AMAZING FOOD.
