Visited Oakshire to get some food and found this Hawaiian truck we hadn't tried yet. We were excited to see a menu that was a little different from the other 2 Hawaiian trucks in town and a very reasonable price ($15 got 2 scoops of rice, slaw or Mac salad and a huge portion of the main protein). I tried the Cod Katsu plate because I have never seen a fish katsu before and was intrigued. This was a VERY good dish. The Katsu crust was super crunchy and held up well to the deliciously spicy katsu sauce and the juice from the slaw without ever getting soggy. The fish was nice and juicy and cooked perfectly. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough katsu sauce and I had to request more. My wife tried the Pork Bulgogi plate. It was very flavorful and tasty but the meat was so full of fat and gristle it was hard to eat. She tossed half the meat, that's why I took off the 5th star from this review. We'll definitely try them again, we'll be sharing the garlic tofu dish next time!

Delicious! I have never had pacific island food-glad I took the plunge and tried something new. The teriyaki chicken was cooked perfectly. The side of slaw was amazing-just the right amount of dressing. I shared this generous serving with a friend. I loved their location at Oakhouse Public Brewery on Madison.

First time at Makuahine's Pacific Islands Streatery and I loved it. I got the Garlic Chicken which is marinated and breaded Chicken covered in Sticky Garlic Sauce. You also get 2 scoops of Rice , Macaroni Salad, and Namasu (Asian Pickled Cucumbers. The Chicken was juicy and spiced to perfection. The Macaroni Salad was well seasoned and not dripping with Mayonnaise. The Chicken Potstickers were crispy and perfect. The Namasu was so crunchy and refreshing, I could have eaten double what I was served.

One of the best Hawaiian food we have ever had! Lucky that they are located in Eugene and come on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to Oakshire Brewery. We had Garlic Chicken and the potstickers - Soooooo delicious! Thank you for making good food guys!

This is it! Looking for real hawaiian style plate lunch, this place serves up the best I've had in a long time. I grew up in Honolulu, and this is better than most plate lunch places there!

This place is INCREDIBLE! The noodles don't contain egg and the slaw is dairy free! A perfect option for someone who is vegan. The tofu is very flavorful and delicious. Definitely coming back for more!

I'm surprised there is only one review! This guy knows what he's doing! Probably some of the best Kalua Pork I've ever had (and I make some amazing Kalua Pork!). The Mac salad was also bomb. Stu (the owner) was fun, friendly, and chill. We shared pictures of our dogs for a good 30 minutes. And the best part? He follows sanitation and health guidelines for COVID precautions. Definitely recommend!

If you have the chance, this is some of the best Hawaiian food I've had. I just asked Stew, the owner, what he recommended and just went with what he recommended. He did not disappoint; this was easily the best meal my girlfriend and I had on our vacation. If you have the chance you should definitely get some food here.
