Just an amazing restaurant from the food to the staff. Would highly recommend!

I used to live in DC, where Ethiopian food is plentiful, but Zagwe is as good as or better than any of the great places we ate there.

First time having Ethiopian food and it will not be my last. Live music set the mood from the moment we entered+Was greeted with a smile and received continual authentic service throughout the night. Shared this meat platter with 3 other friends and there was more than enough food. Lamb tips and doro wat were my two favorite.

Food was incredible and the service was amazing! Treated our large table like she was serving her family. All 10 of us were full by the end and she threw in some free food on top of that as a gift. So much food for the price! We felt obliged to give a big tip because we got so much for so little. Can't recommend enough.

Outstanding food and very gracious hostess and owners. My only regret was not eating in the restaurant. I got my food to-go. There was live music. The owner gave us a short history lesson on the region. I wanted to stay, but my fam was waiting for food. We are going back for sure.

I was thrilled with the food and the service. The owner of the restaurant has a heart of gold, with so much generosity and love coming through. This place is a gem. We ordered the meat plate, but made one substitution to get some veggies (the collard dish). She gave us extra food, I think maybe because we were sitting outside on the cold patio, and maybe because my meal partner was a return customer, but the food was really abundant beyond I think what is normal. My favorite was the dorho wot, (the chicken dish), which blew me away with flavor complexity. My second favorite was the goma (collards and spinach). Also loved the lamb tips. I found the beef tips slightly boring flavor-wise compared to the other dishes, but eating in the mix of everything was good. I just love the sour all-teff injera bread. I would love to see them well supported by our Eugene diners, and present for years to come.

Our meal at Zagwe's was fantastic! We ordered the vegetarian/vegan family style meal and it was packed with so much flavor and goodness! We had never been to an Ethiopian or Eritrean restaurant before and we were definitely in for a treat. Not only was all of the food delicious, but the staff was so helpful in ensuring that we had everything we needed food-wise as well as everything we needed to be comfortable while seated on the patio. The staff routinely came out to check on us, and adjusted the heater toward our table. They even talked to us a little bit about the coffee ceremony, and what it entails. We felt very well taken care of throughout our meal. This is a must-visit spot for anyone in the Eugene area who is a vegan or vegetarian. The vegetarian/vegan family style meal comes with 5 items plus injera (flatbread). All items were so tasty and plentiful. We ordered just the one meal for the two of us and had to take about 1/4 of it to-go. There are also some tasty-sounding meat dishes on the menu that we didn't try, but are worth checking out. I highly recommend eating here!

I couldn't believe how terrific the hospitality was! I felt like I was eating at a relative's home. My table was even given an appetizer and some items for free because of a minor delay. It was the perfect spot for a double date and an experience I'll remember for years to come (there was live music and the signer sang directly at our table). So fun to try out authentic Ethiopian food!
