We had a rehearsal dinner with about 30 people. The service was excellent. Waitress was friendly and took great care of anyone. We had a variety of everything on the menu and it was excellent.

On 22/10/24, a friend and I decided to enjoy Bumper's. We live in Milwaukie so we don't often get the opportunity. Its a treat. This experience was disappointing. After requesting water twice from our server, once from the hostess and once from a passing server, my friend went to get our water. Our server assured her it was "just about" to be delivered. As the joint was near empty that seemed doubtful. Our meal arrived cold. Cold French onion soup is repulsive. No one came by to ask so the matter was resolved with a zero tip. It didn't feel good. I am generous tipper. My friend and I have enjoyed Bumper's in the past.

We had a party on the 2nd floor. Onion Rings are awesome, and so was the Osso Buco. The meat just fell off the bone! Everything was great until we got the bill.We supplied a cake, and had to ask for plates and a cake knife & we served ourselves. The waitstaff didn't do anything except bring utensils. The bill had a $25 "Cake Fee" even though they did nothing to help. It would have been different if the fee was mentioned when booking the room, or by the waitress. But, there was no mention. Just that $25 line item on the bill. That ended the party on a bad note.

We called ahead as we had a party of seven. We arrived ten minutes before 7pm and then proceeded to wait for over an hour to be seated. Granted, they were busy, but the whole point of making a reservation is to avoid walk up wait times. Food and drinks were great though it took a while to get our order in for those after we had finally sat down. I would try them again but not with a group of more than five.Parking: Parking lot was full and we has to use the adjacent business center to park.

Corey and Aaron have brought Bumber's back to its glory days! Not a better restaurant in Portland. Lots are more expensive, but none will deliver the way Bumper's font and back of the house will! Book a reservation, you won't be disappointed! We have eaten there for almost 20 years. We can walk there from our house, so believe me, we know this restaurant!! Check it out! You'll love the experience!!
