Love Urban Decanter... the food, the staff, and the cool old building. Huge fan of this privately owned restaurant. I've taken my staff here for dinners that are really fun. And a GREAT wine list.

I have to leave a review for Urban Decanter. TL;DR - You should go, they’re worth every penny.We’ve been residents of Forest Grove for about a year and a half, and when we first moved here we tried Urban Decanter a few times over the months for dinner. We finally gave up. The food was mediocre and overpriced. Not worth it at all. But a couple months ago we heard they had a new chef who was fantastic. We were leery, but we finally gave them another try. Oh my. Absolutely fantastic. The first time we started with the burrata, and my wife got the cod while I got the chicken paprikash. Everything was absolutely amazing. Absolutely worth it. We went again tonight which prompted this review. They had a weekend menu with a country pork pate with hazelnuts for an appetizer. Oh. Wow. Insanely good. For the entrees my wife got the Mac and cheese, and I got the wine braised short ribs. Again, everything was amazing.Do yourself a favor. Go here. The new chef is a culinary genius. Thank you, Urban Decanter, for stepping it up and becoming true fine dining in Forest Grove.

Stopped in after visiting Dauntless tasting room. I had the chicken paprikash and my husband has the short ribs. Service and food was 10/10. Definitely will be going back!

Urban Decanter is a hidden gem in Forest Grove! Our meal was perfectly prepared...the mussels were especially fresh and bursting with flavor. The staff are friendly and engaging, providing fantastic custom wine suggestions that elevated our meal. Jehni was amazing! The atmosphere is the perfect mix...nice enough to wear something special but comfortable enough to be perfectly relaxed. A beautiful night! We will be back for sure...

Refuse to go because my wife and I tried to walk in and got stopped at the door because it's reservation only, which is ridiculous. It's probably the only place in Forest Grove that requires reservations for pizza or anything for that matter.

I really enjoyed the duck special the evening we were there. My husband's Chicken Paprikash was good, too. It was quite busy (the first night of normalcy after the ice storm), so staff seemed a bit stretched, but we didn't mind. I also like that they offer interesting wines by the glass beyond the typical set seen at restaurants.
This was our first time eating at Urban Decanter and we were completely pleased. I had the Maple Old Fashioned, while I prefer a single cube in my Old Fashion this drink was spot on. My wife had the Blood Orange Spritz and she said it was fabulous. We had the Artichoke dip was really good and the right amount. For dinner my wife had the Black Cod, it was tasty and flakey just melted in your mouth. I had the short ribs, they were cooked perfectly and also melted in your mouth. For desert we had the cheese cake, it too was awesome.

Food is always delicious. The seasonal menus are amazing. The have gluten free pita bread that I get with the spinach dip. So good!! Wine selection is massive and they are so good at offering the perfect suggestions. Staff is amazing! Always a favorite place for us when we want a nice dinner, glass of wine and relaxing atmosphere.

Average! This was our first visit to Urban Decanter, and based on the reviews had high hopes. The atmosphere was just okay, the small high top area seemed a bit of a waste of space, they had wrapped some presents for decor (we went around the holidays) which I appreciated but then left the messy rolls of paper next to the wines. I wasn’t sure if they were going for bar, wine bar, nice restaurant or casual - it lacked some identity.The food… I had the mussels which were overcooked, the salad was fine nothing special. The cod lacked flavor and was just okay. The risotto was served in a chilled bowl which made the dish cold and gummy.The service was okay, it was a bit slow but not horrible.I think this place could be great with some tweaking but I would not consider it fine dining, I would rather drive into Carlton or Hillsboro to get a fine dining experience.

We enjoyed a lovely evening with friends and celebrated with lovely bubbles. The food, as always, was delicious. Especially, we enjoyed the selection of champagnes and the special nibbles. The UD staff is exceptional, friendly & knowledgeable.
