This little hole-in-the wall sort of place is a great find! I stopped by for take-out at lunch time. I especially enjoyed the chicken vindaloo (mild spice) and might try the medium spice next time. The chicken tikki masala was okay but vindaloo was my favorite. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the garlic naan, which were chewier than I expected, and also had plenty of cilantro (I'm a zero-cilantro person). If you are a cilantro lover give it a try though! Rice is very important too of course, and the rice was cooked well and had good flavor, a perfect compliment to the chicken dishes.

Delicious family owned local restaurant. The lamb vindaloo in medium spice is the perfect dish. Mint chutney and potato samosa are my favorite appetizer.

With a wife who's spent time in India we're always on the lookout for decent Indian food. Maharaja marks well above just good in our books. Fantastic food and great service.

Not impressed. My daughter liked the butter chicken curry. My lamb boti kabab was not very good. The rice and naan were ok. The business is apparently for sale.

Terrible customer service. My husband ordered Lamb Saag and Shrimp Coconut Masala over the phone, yet after he picked it up and brought it home, we found it was Lamb Saag and Lamb Coconut Masala. He immediately contacted the restaurant and explained what happened. The woman just told him "sorry, I'll do better next time". No offer to fix the mistake, or give a credit. We love Indian food but will never order from here again.

Simply the best. Their butter chicken and samosas are what I'd eat as my last meal on earth.

We have been going to Maharaja for several years now and love it. The food is great and the prices are reasonable. We took my wife's sister and husband visiting from Los Angeles and they said it was the best they ever had. They are serious food and wine snobs so I take this as a high complement. When my son visits from Eugene he always makes a point to eat here or take some food back with him since it's much better than any restaurant in his area.

Best curry in the Portland area. Delicious butter chicken and naan. Very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend. 2 butter chicken plus 3 naan was $25.55.

I would say the food was just okay. It wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t spectacular. I got butter chicken, garlic naan, and vegetable samosas which was around $21. The butter chicken was the main thing that was very average. The garlic naan tasted fresh and was really good but the vegetable samosas are definitely on the salty side.

Seriously the best Indian food in this state. I've been to many but this place continues to be above the rest by a huge margin. I will continue to stop here weekly.

The food here is excellent. The customer service is excellent as well. It seems that hole in wall locations always make the best food.

Absolutely wonderful food. Worth a detour. Can't wait to return and sit inside.
