My experience was just not good. Not good at all unfortunately. I came to Medford for work and was staying nearby. My coworkers and I decided to visit black bear diner to get dinner. Collectively we ordered two orders or chicken strip dinners and a turkey dinner. After waiting patiently 45 minutes ( and it was not busy) we got our food. My coworker who ordered the turkey didn’t get his salad until the food came out. Which he was upset about, he’d hoped to get it way before the dinner was served. The server kept bringing ranch instead of thousand island salad. Three times. And what made me give the rating was the following day we called to order pick up. The man that answered was extremely rude and hung up on me. Then when I tried to call back the phone was busy for the next hour. I dunno if they left it off the hook or what. The food itself was underwhelming unfortunately for the price.

Staff were friendly but service was below average. Waited 15 minutes to have someone take our order. Waited almost another 30 for our food to arrive and restaurant wasn’t even that busy. My biscuits were far from fresh, fries soggy and limp, and 4 very small chicken strips that were mostly breading. When paying the hostess didn’t even say a word to us as she was trying to talk to someone on the phone. Just pointed and tapped on the credit card pad for me to pay. Sadly this seems the norm the last few times we’ve eaten here.

We were hungry, when we arrived. As we exited, we found ourselves talking about everything but food, so mission accomplished BLACK BEAR DINER.

Great experience. Was a long waiting line but very worth it. Ordered the California Benedict and was very pleased. Great vibes... for being busy. Loved how the staff worked together. Smiles and light atmosphere.Great place highly recommend

Food tasted good, but the kids bear cub plates didn’t come with fruit. The staff was very friendly and provided great service, but there was flies everywhere and what looked like mouse/rat feces in the windowsill. If the public facing side is like this I am curious how clean the kitchen is. I hope we don’t get sick from eating here.

We have stopped at other Black Bear Diners and have had great food and a good experience. Not so much at this one. We had poached eggs that were well overcooked, corned beef was dry, and the grits absolutely tasteless. Our toast came out 5 minutes after the food. We really like Black Bear Diners, just not this one.

I’ve been going to Black Bear all over the western US for many years. It started with their first restaurant in Shasta. I’ve always loved their food. Some restaurants are better than others. Shasta #1, Chandler Az #2, and I could go on and on. Sorry to say today’s lunch sucked in Medford. We both had Tri Tip Dip. It was so tuff. It was smoke to a great flavor but dang it was tuff. The chef sliced it thick and in the wrong direction. French fries barely cooked and soggy. It’s a shamed as I threw $40 down the toilet. Service good though!!!!!

It's the only place that has a decent chicken fried steak besideHeaven on Earth Restaurant in Azalea, Oregon! Good service and novelty bear decor with newspaper style menus. A well priced, must try type of place. Avoid the Shasta Black Bear. Poor service and lousy food!Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of up front parking

Sat down to eat and waited for about a hour even finished a show waiting for my food, the server is blaming the reason for poor service is the two cooks they have which I can say is not the right reason, since the family next to us is a bigger party was served with their foods right away and they was seated after us. My family felt ignored and we had to look for cutlery and creamer for our coffee, the food came out like it was sitting under a heat lamp since they came out, I suggest going to a different Black Bear and just skip this one.
