Came In with my mother, and wanted to gamble.. she asked for my ID which I was super stoked about and then proceeded to tell me large bags and backpacks are not allowed.. I simply responded with its my purse.. wasn't allowed to gamble, thank you, because I have a backpack. What am I gonna be stealing?? Free soda?? Lmao pretty pathetic to turn customers away

Went in here to buy a couple drinks and use the restroom as I was waiting for my laundry next door. The guy working told me I wasn't allowed to buy anything simply because I wanted to use the bathroom as well. Absolutely directful and demeaning. The pric should be fired for turning paying customers away because they happen to be doing laundry nect door. I assumed a strip mall was to conveniently place businesses near each other so they can share the extra business but clearly this Cafe doesn't need the money.

Simon’s town was only place in South Africa I felt racism. Lighthouse cafe was utterly racist. We (3 incl a child aged 10) went for lunch at 2.10pm. We could see 2 tables free and another one just empty. The hostess came and denied us the table saying they were full. We then told her we would eat by the bar but she denied that too. We then told her that we would take away food but she even didn’t want us to wait around. One look inside and you could see white folks like every restaurant we had been during our trip. This was the only place we were denied access. Thankfully there is a Korean restaurant just 100 metres away which was amazing. Avoid this place

I'm so confused. We were expecting this spot to live up to all the stellar reviews, but our experience was way below par. We waited an hour for our food. One of the dishes had no salt in it, and the herbs and cheese were so scarce it tasted like cardboard. We could only tolerate a few mouthfuls. We also ordered a Thai salad. The menu advertises it as containing line fish, shrimp, and calamari. Besides the one lonely prawn on the plate, there was nothing in the salad matching that description. There was some kind of weird mystery meat square that I'm assuming is processed calamari or a soy product. It tasted awful, and the texture was really offputting. We did enjoy the tempura and dessert, but we took takeout coffees for later, and they sugared the wrong cup, so we had to throw it away. As we left we saw they had a fish special. We were very disappointed we didn't know about it. We probably would have had a better meal if we'd ordered it instead, but our waiter wasn't particularly interested in us. Oh, and the orange juice was processed and sickly sweet.

We had a lovely evening meal and would highly recommend this restaurant to others. The service was excellent, friendly and attentive and our food was delicious. My first choice (the pie) was unavailable but the pasta dish I selected instead was a great choice. All tables were full and there was a buzz and perfect ambience inside.

A very pleasant cafe for a quick bite and a coffee. Stopped here on our way to Boulders Beach for pasta and a drink. Polite, friendly and a decent menu. Easy to park outside on the street - may need a few rand to give the parking attendant but otherwise free. Not much of a view but convenient for passing through.

Wow! My new favorite restaurant in the Deep South. Prawn pasta amazing, definitely has a chilly bite so beware, however I was warned by the waitress, and I do love chilies, Service and food excellent!

Enjoyed a leisurely meal, excellent food and enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was a little slow at times and they seemed short of staff but we were not in a hurry so it didn’t matter to us. Will book a table to take friends with us soon.

Everything about this place is excellent. If you’re in Simons bay it’s a must. Simple. No frills. Everything about this place is excellent. If you’re in Simons bay it’s a must. Simple. No frills.
