Overall I like the store and the pharmacy. I do wish the pill bottles were smaller- like what Rite Aid used to have. It's a waste of plastic and space to have pills take up only 1/10 of the bottle.

We go here because it's the only Newberg pharmacy in our insurance network. Since taking on the Rite-Aid clients, they are completely overwhelmed, with delays for getting meds filled, long lines etc. They need more space. Also one of the employees gave me a tongue-lashing for using money vs. debit card (this was early in the pandemic). I had my sani-wipes out and started wiping the money down, but he stopped me with a disgusted look and told me not to bother. If there was another nearby pharmacy in our network, I'd be outta there.

Many of the reviews here are older. I happen to live nearby, I don't believe they reflect what's taking place today. I have had issues, they have been resolved to my satisfaction. The only reason for 4 stars is there are infrastructure issues. I'd love to see corporate focus on this. Thank you for being in Newberg.

We've had a lot of issues with bad customer service at this location. Employees coughing into their own hands and then handling your groceries. Cashiers more interested in talking to each other than conversing with customers. You feel like a burden. Both times I've reached out, nothing was done. Received an email from the manager thanking me for my positive review, which seemed odd. Definitely done coming here.

Shop here several times a week for YEARS. Tonight however, when Emma was checking, I simply mentioned that it goes faster to just pick items out of basket and scan instead ot taking all items out of basket, piling them up, and then scanning. She completely began to argue, got angry, scanned the first item, then took it off, put all items back into the basket, and called Shawn to do the checking. Meanwhile, a line was forming, we all just wanted to get our goods and leave. Eve

Pretty sketchy overall and completely lacking self-checkout. The lines are absurd as they'll typically have 2-3 checkers tops. Also, the whole store feels like it's stuck in the 90s. It desperately needs a facelift.

On Saturday 7/6/19; I purchased 4-6 packs of small cans of Schweppes tonic. It was located on an endcap at the bottom of the wire shelf just below the sign posted Pepsi Products $1.99. I noted at checkout that I was charged full price. When I returned to the customer service desk; I was told by the person there that the price applied to the Pepsi Products and not to the Schweppes items. I felt very angry about this response and action; thinking to myself "Safeway is NOW DEAD to me" I will go across the street to the Fred Meyer (Kroger) and shop there in the future. I have had a flawless pricing experience at the Kroger; nothaving to doublecheck my receipt every time I leave the store. Issues 1. The pricing sign was misleading. Am I really required to know which company Schweppe's products are produced by...? I assumed it was a Pepsi product saw the price sign and assumed it meant everything that was on the associated rackets a1.99 2. The non-interested attitude provided by the service person was abysmal. Seriously? You expect me to come back? NO WAY. "Safeway is NOW DEAD to me" 3. I wouldn't' be complaining as this was the first time I have returned to this store giving it one more chance after being overcharged for some whole chickens purchased 2 months ago. I did not notice the overcharge until I was home. I didn't have the time/energy to go complain at that time. (I should have gone back to complain.!)

The Bakery- We ordered 3 dozen round donuts and were told to pick them up anytime between the morning and afternoon when we were having a party. Thanks for selling them and giving us what dry donuts you could scrounge together in the case instead.

They really need to hire a cashier to two. Long wait once you get ready to pay.
