Not what I expected. The food was okay, not worth the price. I guess you pay for the view. The service could improve. I would not suggest this to anyone visiting Newport.

I'm a southeast Alaskan and I've grown up on seafood most of my life. This is now my most favorite seafood restaurant! Absolutely wonderful food! All the stars for the service, food, atmosphere and view! Thank you Local Ocean, I'll absolutely be back next time I come to Oregon.

Always a 10 out of 10 at this favorite place for locals and tourists alike! Great food and drinks selection, great staff, and great view. It’s also amazing that they treat their staff well and it’s employee-owned. Go for a meal or a drink (and try the Tuna Reuben).. you will be glad you did! ☺️

Vegetarians, you will find something to eat beyond a veggie burger or hummus plate at this restaurant. Appreciate finding a restaurant with creative dishes.Vegetarian options: I got a mushroom dish with vegetables. The amount of mushrooms and veggies was truly amazing!

Great fried oysters and red wine. Comfortable seating with beautiful views of the harbor. Servers are very professional and appear to take pride in the quality of service they provide.

We had dinner at Local Oceans last night and it was one of our favorite meals! We're both from the PNW and have had amazing seafood from all over, but this meal stood out! The flavors were bold, delicious, and unlike anything we've had before. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation and plan to go again next time we're in Newport!

I had the Fisherman's Wife Stew. $41 + 20% .It tastes like boiled tomatoes. No salt at all, no herbs or anything that can enhance the flavor of the stew like onions, garlic, cilantro or whatever it is used to make a stew delicious. The buttered bread they stuck in the plate was more flavorful!I've been to Local Ocean before and have had the Brazilian Stew and the chowder and they were good, so I thought to try the Fisherman' wife stew. Big mistake. Don't they try their own food? Somebody there should try that stew.

Hands down one of the best dining experiences I've had, period. The Tuna Umami was the best bite of food I've put in my mouth in as long as I can remember. Our server was exceptional. The care and thoughtfulness was perfect, and she was quite knowledgeable of anything we asked about.

We have dined here many times both in restaurant as well as take out, and it has always been great. Our latest experience was not as amazing as previous. We ordered the Coho Salmon Tuscan, Tuna Reuben, and 2 drinks for takeout. We discovered one of our beverages was missing that we were charged for, the bread on Tuna Reuben was badly burned, and the Tuscan was missing the prosciutto that the salmon was supposed to be wrapped in. The salmon was over cooked and charred in places and tasted very burned. The in house service was great as always, but we were very disappointed this go around.
