This is easily one of the best Italian restaurants on the west coast, the food was incredible. We had the focaccia and meatballs to start, the lasagna, and a house made pasta for our mains the sauce was amazing, tiramisu, and sausage, caramel ice cream for dessert. One of the best tiramisu’s I’ve ever had!

We had pizza one night and pasta the next. Super fast for carryout, though it's not peak tourist season. Great service. Delicious chicken Parmesan and Margherita pizza.

Sorella is my go-to place for the times I need a special dinner or a wonderful dessert, like tiramisu or cannoli. The option to order online and pick up is so handy, and my orders are always ready in a timely fashion. Nice people, heavenly food and a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Had this as a recommendation from a native Oregonian. It was a bit slow at 7:45pm, probably due to weather, so that made the service pretty great. Pros: GREAT Old Fashioned. Very warm/hot food. Reasonable prices. Cons: Fried Zucchini description was a bit misleading, as they were more like bites and inside was texture of soft banana, vs. having some density to it. Sauce was good. I did the tri-meat pasta bolognse was pretty bland and you could not even feel/taste the meat as they were such small crumbs of it. Wish I would have gone for the meatballs instead. Still a good option in the nice downtown area.

All food is scratch made in house so they handle allergies and intolerances well because they know exactly what is in each dish. Food was delicious, comfortable atmosphere with interesting art, a nice bar, and welcoming to families vibe. All four dishes we got were delivered promptly, at the correct temperature for the dish, and visually appealing. 100% will go again and would recommend.Dietary restrictions: Because they make everything they know exactly what is in everything and can help you make safe fully informed choices or suggest modifications to allow you to enjoy what you crave.Kid-friendliness: Upscale food in a very kid friendly spot. Kids are welcomed, and they have a delicious verbally delivered kids menu. They also delivered cups with lids and straw without asking and the kids' meals come out at a temperature where they can eat right away.

Ok , this place has SO MUCH POTENTIAL! With 3 easy changes it would have been quite the experience!1: the lighting is awful , when you think of Italian you think of warm, cozy, inviting, comfort . Get rid of this white light , it’s sterile, cold , just not comfortable. Use warmer bulbs in your strip lights, match the hanging bulbs light temperature and it will change the entire vibe.2 : Play Italian music. It seems cliche’, but it’s now the opposite. Every restaurant now is some fusion that plays the same modern , non themed , background playlist. It doesn’t add to the uniqueness of experience, it just seems like a huge missed opportunity. When you get Italian you want to feel like you went to Italian. Louis Prima pandora is fantastic, leaning into the theme is the exception to the rule now not the cliche’, and it was sorely missed on our visit. Finally, 3: If this isn’t a sports bar , why do we have a tv blaring at us? When I go out to spend good money on good food and drink (which you definitely provide) I want to be present in the experience. TV’s aren’t just an “option if you are interested” sort of fixture. The human brain is wired to fixate on movement and bright light. When you put a tv in a restaurant it actively pulls the attention of everyone facing it. It introduces immersion breaking, often chaotic fast paced light fluctuations which attract attention and detract from calm, warm and relaxed vibes of eating and conversing with friends and family. This is the entire point of going out to eat. I don’t want a tv dinner, I want an immersive, unique experience. This is what brings people back next time. To be present in the moment with the food, ambiance, drink and people that enhance life is the whole point of dining out. And TV’s ruin that experience by stealing your attention.I mean this review in good faith I hope this honest review helps you guys .

Chicken Parm was rubbery and sauce was salty. My pasta dish tasted of straight cream. The pasta had nice texture. Service was lacking, forgot to put our garlic bread order in and informed us half way through the meal. Very disappointing as we have been here a few times over the years and always had good food.

Sorella has become one of my favorite restaurants in Newport. There are a lot of restaurants here, but if I'm craving real Italian, Sorella is the only real option around. If you miss your nonna, order the Caserecce Alla Bolognese. It's my fav thing to order. Sicilian short twisted pasta is served under a ragu of pork, veal, beef, pangrattato (delicious crispy Italian breadcrumbs), and topped with pecorino Romano. On busy nights, I order Bolognese , a Caesar salad and Tiramisu to go. It's more than enough to fill up me and my spouse. The restaurant is warm and inviting and the wait staff is personable and committed. When dining in, if I don't order the Bolognese, I get the amazing house pepperoni pizza or spaghetti and meatballs (the meatballs are amazing!). There are great menu items for the kids too, plus you can order spaghetti by the pound to go, along with a quart of the delicious marinara. Treat yourself and check out the adult beverage options too (also available to go). I recommend Sorella to celebrate, entertain out-of-town guests, or whenever you miss your nonna. Dine in or order from the online menu. It's all fabulous.Kid-friendliness: Great kid menu.

Just paid $18 for a chicken Caesar salad with focaccia croutons. The were four good bites of a chicken breast, the “croutons” were old chewy focaccia crust and about a pound of lettuce. No parm no croutons no chicken? We paid $18 for a pound of lettuce.
