Went to El Comal Taqueria for dinner tonight. Waitress paid $6.70 of my bill cause I could only afford the majority of it. Definitely going again this week on Thursday and leaving her a generous tip.

I very much appreciate have a restaurant, such as El Comal, close to where I live. Some of their dishes I Iike more than others, but the Mexican Pizza is great, as is the chican tortilla soup. The servers are gracious and friendly, and ambience is warm and inviting, everything I want in a local "joint" where I can meet friends or just get take out.Vegetarian options: I am not vegetarian, and was not paying close attention to veggie options.Parking: Mostly great parking, but it can get busy.

Absolutely the best Mexican food in the valley. They have a really unique and traditional selection of salsas and sauces and their food is absolutely fabulous! They make really good margaritas with some top shelf tequila too. Women owned, classy, top notch class act. I highly recommend El Comal! I just wish it was in my home town of Ashland. Please, please, please, open a restaurant in Ashland!

Absolutely love this place it has been my favorite restaurant for the past 8 years. I highly recommend their red tacos and or Creme shrimp ?? and their drink selection is great with the Michelada being my favorite.

Ordered chile rellano and enchilada combo and it seemed like the rellano was previously made and microwaved.Watery, runny, and the egg was tough like cardboard. Lacking flavor and the chile was mushy. Enchilada was equally disappointing. I tried two bites of each and sent it back. I won’t go back.

Off night maybe?? Have NO IDEA how this restaurant has a 4.5. We are from San Diego and maybe that's the problem. Don't order ANY dish with vegetables unless you want to be taken back to elementary school cafeteria in which the vegetables have NO flavor and are boiled. Couple that with chicken meat you can repair your shoes with. Drink menu has NO prices so ask first. It would take sooo little to improve the food...really. if you are from Santa Barbara South don't bother...the restaurant is however neat and clean.

Extremely overpriced. Food quality is low. Terrible margaritas that are undrinkable for an insane price! Awful customer service. Had to ask for napkins and waters. Snotty servers. So many great places in the valley - this is not one of them.

All in all the food and service was good. Price for the proportions seemed on the higher side (but what isn’t now days). I had the fajita burrito pictured in #1 with “workers pale ale”. My wife had the 2 item combo plate with a “Cadillac Margarita” picture #2.
