The food here is excellent. I had the shrimp cocktail, focaccia bread, and peach blackberry crisp. They were all extremely tasty. There is not much room inside however, there are a few tables outside also. I would recommend this place for a special lunch or dinner.

This might be the best meal I've had in Portland. The poached albacore was delicious, the veggies were fresh, and tasty and the vegan coconut lime ice cream was surprisingly creamy. I went for their Sunday menu and I'm looking forward to trying what they have for dinner.

Absolutely delicious! Not cheap but well worth the price - I feel sorry if you hadn't had the chance to try their crab roll, 8/18 was the last day for them (for now, I hope) The burrata is also delicious, definitely worth trying the frozen custard too!

My family and I come here for the FOOD - it's absolutely fantastic. Pasta is fresh and handmade, produce is locally grown, and the oysters! Incredible. I really love the delicious wine pairings as well. My picky 7-year-old devoured the rigatoni and vodka sauce, with extra parmesan cheese of course. My husband had the bucatini carbonara and I had the pasta with spring veggies. Desserts are delicious - I loved the key lime tart and strawberry tiramisu. And don't get me started on the frozen custard. I have had the cinnamon blondie, grasshopper, butter pecan, passionfruit, and marionberry creme fraiche flavors...yum! Service can be a bit slow because they are a small operation, so just have patience. Look them in the eye, smile, and say hi! The staff is friendly and helpful - we've always gotten good service here. It's more of a Euro vibe where they let you linger over your meal rather than constantly ask you if everything is good. If you like delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere, come here and enjoy yourself.

So I was that person that initially said something like "omg, {x} dollars for soup?". I hasn't gone to Beast before but I've gone to plenty of restaurants that plate well but still leave something to be desired. Luckily that was not the case here. Everything was a crazy flavor bomb. We got the Pate which was a hefty portion and came with an amazing carrot marmalade. We got the burrata which was very savory (and creamy of course) and was paired with a jammy rhubarb instead of the typical tomato combo. We also got the mushroom pasta dish and OMG it was so savory. Usually mushroom dishes are a bit mild and earthy but this was a pleasant surprise. Lastly we got the Short rib and just everything on this plate was incredible. Little pieces of ramps as a topping. Whatever was under the onions was crazy too, was like an intensely flavored humus or something. Ugh I already want to go back.

Very overpriced for what you get. There are much better options in Portland. They were out of multiple items, service was slow and awkward, and not that friendly. The food didn't taste bad but my martini was warm and the shrimp cocktail was a ripoff. For $17 you get 6 small shrimp that don't even smell that fresh. The crab roll was good but again very overpriced. Go somewhere else imo.

First off, I'll say the food is good. Is it great? No. Is it worth what you pay for it? Also, no. This place is way over-priced for the level of gastronomic delight. We ordered focaccia (no fancy ingredients and one of the easiest breads to make) - $9. Then the salad, a basic salad of a couple of different kinds of greens (butter lettuce, romaine, dill, etc.), again nothing special - no nuts, fruit, anything; just greens and about a teaspoon of dressing - but $17! Chicken was very tasty, the sauce was really salty for me, my parter disagreed and thought it was great, but $40 great? Not sure. Then came desert. Don't be hoodwinked by the marketing of their frozen custard - people, it's just an egg-based ice cream. $20 for the "boozy custard float" - a decent-sized single scoop of vanilla ice cream with whiskey poured over the top. Then, when I got home and looked again at the receipt, they had charged me 4x for the focaccia so that I ended up paying $36 for a piece of bread smaller than many restaurant offer gratis as an appetizer. I emailed them and they claimed to have reimbursed me, although I have yet to see that come through on my account. I really wanted to like this place. I love the marketplace/restaurant idea and it's so close to my house.

Truly, hands down the best place ever. They can do no wrong in my book and are always my first stop in Portland. Don't sleep on this insane place and make sure to befriend Naomi their talented beyond measure (and total badass) chef!

Don't be fooled by the simple sounding menu, the food here is delicious! Very fresh, seasonal, inventive flavor combos and everything was very high quality. 5 stars for food. 4 stars because service was very slow, but it was busy and they may have been short staffed the day I visited. A good place to go if you're not in a rush and want to enjoy amazing food. I went to Beast a couple of times years ago and this new restaurant lives up to the same high quality but at a more affordable price.

This is a wonderful restaurant! My daughter said the milk bread on this crab roll was the best she has ever had. The fresh pasta tastes like it is straight out of a cafe in Italy. Wonderful wine list by the glass and bottle selection. To top it off we each had a scoop of fresh custard that was perfect. We highly suggest this great place.

One of the best dining experiences we’ve had in some time! The atmosphere was charming and so inviting, the service made us feel like home and the food was beyond incredible! We’re already planning our next meal back. Thank you!!

The food was delicious, however I only gave 3 stars because 2 of the 4 pastas were not available and the dish we did get, wasn't anything on this menu. It's no secret that having a correct menu is part of a positive dining experience. Oftentimes, I will look at the menu online before deciding on a place to dine. In this case, this was a restaurant we had wanted to try, however the Spring Shells without Morels is not a dish that deserves to be on this menu. Please do better. Or at the very least - the server could have told us this right away. Instead we stumbled on this information after trying to order. We tried to order the runner up and the said noodle wasn't available for that dish either. So, we ended up with a yummy entree just not from the menu.

Husband went to the Marketplace on Sunday and was treated rudely by the greeter who would not help him but waved him to the back of the store where he had to search through a chaotic freezer to find what he wanted. After he bagged his own goods and she checked him out, the tip screen insisted on a 20% tip. The food he brought home was costly and disappointing: tiny chicken thighs in a watery-sweet sauce; a thin fava bean spread on a slice of dark bread; pate that was "off", and a burrata so called which was really a few snowflakes of cheese overwhelmed by jams and a big piece of bland focaccia. Now, this review comes from a couple who've supported Ripe from back when they were a destination restaurant and, since covid, made regular take-out purchases. But the quality and service are now in free-fall. We won't be returning.

Brought my family and Ukrainian guest for dinner. We had my toddler daughter with us so only had 2 hours until bedtime. My husband with our daughter checked in and was told that we were "first on the list" and would be seated within 15-20 minutes. The time went by and I checked in with the hostess who now said it would be an additional 30-40 minutes despite multiple open tables around us - I explained we had a toddler with a 7:30 bedtime and she acknowledged this. After another 30 minutes went by we started getting concerned that we wouldn't have enough time to eat before bedtime so pivoted and ordered food to-go. The same hostess took our order and assured us that "food comes out quickly here" and "would be out in 15-20 minutes." At this point, my daughter was getting fussy because she was hungry so my husband and I left to find her food. All the while, my sister and our guest stayed back to get the food. They waited and waited and waited. My sister was told it's "coming out in a couple minutes." After almost 2 hours of collective waiting, we had to go. My sister asked a final time for the food and was told it was not ready - she asked for a refund explaining we had to leave. Naomi Pomeroy approached our guest and told her that "her daughter" is being "rude." Naomi further explained that her restaurant is "fancy" and thus expecting food to come out quickly is unreasonable. My sister asked if Naomi cared to hear about what had happened but instead Naomi persisted that they "should leave now and never come back." The hatred in the world just makes me sad. As Eastern Europeans we just wanted a break from the horrors of the world and enjoy a dinner with our guest. Luckily our guest just laughed it off and said that nothing surprised her anymore when it comes to "people treating people poorly." I expected better from you Naomi.

Thankful I live down the street and get to indulge myself in ripe cooperatives offerings. Amazing wine selection, grab and go meal kits and astonishing menu. I've never ate anything here that I didn't like. Everything looks and taste like it was made with quality thoughtful ingredients.
