Amazingly smooth Café latte with perfect foam and coffee flavor is exquisite. My first visit here and I will definitely be back. I also had a chocolate biscotti which was excellent not too hard and very nutty the anise flavor came through as well a perfect complement to the café.The small chocolate that comes with the café doesn’t hurt either!

I visit this cafe regularly bc it’s the closest to where I live, but my drink is always a hit or miss. Tipping doesn’t go a long way either; you’ll still be waiting 10 mins for a simple latte and sometimes made very wrong. The staff is also a hit or miss, sometimes they are friendly, and sometimes they appear to hate their job, and it shows. I wouldn’t usually care to write a review about this, but I’m getting tired of paying for an overpriced drink that is not even made right. It’s an ongoing issue that should probably get addressed with their baristas. Do better Cafe Umbria!

Excellent coffee, great service. People were chatting with each other, from a distance of course, but it was nice to see and hear friendly conversations. Wonderful place!

Sometimes no room when all the tables and chairs are taken, but this place is great for excellent service, food items, and knowledgeable staff. Selection of teas is superior to other coffee shops.

Ahh caffe umbria in the corner of zupan's on west burnside, how lame you are, and every three years I forget, and stand in your line on xmas day (because you are open) to re acquaint myself with your sub mediocrity.Let's count the ways..Slow to very slow service. How can a line of three people overwhelm a team of three workers? Umbria magic!Bad service. Letting a hot drink sit until it is cold (because you didnt announce it is ready) and then answering an inquiry as to the status of the drink with Yeah Its Been Ready For Awhile does not mean you completed your task satisfactorily. It means you defeated the customer by not fulfilling their purchase of Extra Hot Mocha. The cup says Extra Hot Mocha. Why are you ok with giving a tepid drink?Quality. Low. Caffe Umbria =syrup flavor.Ok its Christmas. You dont want to work on Christmas. Mission accomplished.

Airy, roomy, usually quite, with great coffee and pastries. A nice place to meet a friend. Highly recommend.

A great place with an italian flare and great coffee. Quaint little tables for sitting or standing if your imagining being in Italy and getting a quick cup on your way. Usually someone is sitting around speaking Italian or reading quietly. Nice tables outside to enjoy the cool mornings and read the paper. The coffee is sold in many places but this is nice to sit in the flagship store and enjoy the ambience of an italian coffee shop. I wish they would play italian music in the background, although they do have special events now and then of live italian music bands. A must visit place in Portland.

My wife and I were in Portland, Oregon for vacation. We walked in an Italian Café named Caffe Umbria. The food was delicious. Our Expresso and cappucino were the best in a very long time. The place was super clean. I would say immaculate. The staff was very pleasant and attentive to the custome needs. I wish I could give six stars.
