We get to experience a lot of the Portland dining scene and we're grateful for that. Every once in a while a place hits different. The food is good, sure. And the drinks are good too. But in Portland for better or worse you're going to get pretty good food and good drinks. The places that hit different have a little bit of magic in them. It's the food. It's the drinks. And often it's an incredible, perfect mix of context and hospitality. We got to experience C'est Si Bon on a night that was our anniversary. The kids were at home with their grandparents. We were in no rush. We were ready to experience a new restaurant. And we just happened to luck out that John, the owner, took care of us. He took us on a tour of his menu, both food and wine, while regaling us with stories from a dozen years in Portland food and beverage and another decade in France. Chef was on point. John was a delight. And we ended up having an experience we couldn't have reserved and would've been unreasonable to hope for. It was a human experience, sprinkled with incredible food and wine along the way. We feel like we just discovered a not-so-secret gem of the Portland food scene a decade after moving to town. “We'll be back” feels like the understatement of the decade. Thanks John and Chef!

We have been satisfied customers since 2018 and have dined in and COVID take away more than a dozen times. Jon and his crew has never disappointed. Yes there have been highs and lows with the lows never derailing. This small classic French Bistro accommodates 22 per seating on a packed night. Reservations are a must. Tonight there three parties who were repeat customers think they can show up on a Friday at 7pm and expect there are open seats. We were fortunate to benefit from a new menu that consistently plays on classic French bistro faire based on fresh and seasonal ingredient's. Love to find the comforts of a classic baguette, pate, fresh greens and flavorful entree offerings. The wine list changes weekly and I would recommend allowing John to pair your wines with your order. We settled on Baguette, Fresh Greens, Scallops, salmon and friendly banter with staff. Once again not a disappointing night out.

Simply the best experience to celebrate our fifth year anniversary ❤. We highly recommend the prix fixe menu and can say without a doubt, every bite was both delicious and memorable. Thank you to the owner, his daughter, and the chef for giving us a night we won't soon forget!!

Even though it was a busy night and the restaurant was full, the service provided was exemplary and the prix fixe menu and wine choices were superb! C'est Si Bon remains my absolute favorite restaurant in Portland.

Chef Bryan made some amazing food. We enjoyed our meals. John was attentive and surprised us with rare wines. Marshall helped in anyway, they were all in a perfect orchestration with getting everyone their orders. It's an experience, to say the least.

Something has changed in the food quality since the pandemic. The duck was a bit dry. I'd try experimenting with a whole new menu so that people don't compare it to what it used to be.

A wonderful culinary experience. John, the host, was accommodating, friendly, helpful. We received very personal, customized service, making sure that food allergies were addressed. Fabulous chef. We were very happy with every dish we ordered. It was hard to decide so we will definitely go back.

Been at this place many times. Unique environment, excellent service from owner, who knows his wine and always have excellent recommendations. I always have a good time here.

Doesn’t pay his former employees all of their wages. Food went way down hill in the last few years, service was always abysmally slow and pretentious, and now I can see why, toxic management. Rule number one is to always pay your people. If you can’t even do that then you have no business doing business. Portland will eat you up.

C'est si Bon is such a delightful restaurant! The food is terrific (Chef is a multivalent culinary master). The atmosphere is charming and welcoming. Owner John makes one feel especially welcome. His recommendations as to food and wine were spot-on for us (and I would add that it is rare to have a restauranteur whose recommendations one really can depend on). The prix fixe and wine pairing is recommended if diners want the full meal experience, but the a la carte menu is excellent.
