The service was good. The food okay but the value is not there. They make a point to say its a sharing menu but the ravioli is 1 ravioli. It felt very overpriced compared to what you get. In a town with this many options they need to step it up.

Excellent food & friendly, knowledgeable service. We asked for wine recommendations and they were all spot-on and delicious (and quite generous with the pours). If I had to choose one adjective for Davenport it might be "unaffected"--everything was done very well, without preciousness or pretense. Thanks for a lovely dinner, we'll definitely be back.

Chef Kevin Gibson and his staff do an amazing job. The food and service fantastic. After being confined in our home for week due to the storm/weather it was so nice to get out for nice night , and bonus we saw an old work colleague and got to reconnect. Portland really is a small big city and Davenport always has some the best food in the city.

The food was tasty but not unusual. The restaurant is very plain inside and I'd say the food matched the setting. Our server was fine but not especially friendly. Perhaps the bad weather for a few days prior to our eating at this restaurant changed things a bit but we had a 7:00 pm reservation and they were already out of one of their main dishes.

Davenport is my favorite restaurant in all of Portland. All frills are eliminated and it just consistently provides the best food and wine that this city has to offer with a laid-back European pace and ambience. Kevin Gibson is one of the best chefs in the city and the menu they dish out from that tiny 2-person kitchen is unreal. There's no better wine list in town (and the mark-ups are as low as a restaurant can possibly go)—shout out to Jeremy who is not only a brilliant wine director but one of the most genuinely kind and talented servers on the planet. If on the menu, always order the soup, scallops, and whatever fish Kevin's managed to get that day. Slurp it all down with a perfect bottle of grower champagne and it's the closest you'll get to Heaven

fantastic wine...but the food and pacing was way, way off, especially at this price point. they need to rethink the kitchen, hopefully can preserve the (excellent) wine

Our 37th wedding anniversary dinner. We didn't tell them but it was still a remarkable dinner. Special mushroom/spinach lasagne was excellent, and the duck w/olives was wonderful. Service was also excellent: friendly, casual, yet so efficient and professional. Great wine list too. We have two favorite restaurants in the world: Caves Madeleine in Beaune, and Davenport in Portland. Truly two of a kind.

Enjoyed returning to Davenport recently, where the food and wine list were excellent as ever. Service is attentive and friendly, and care is taken with each course (we ate around the menu on two recent visits, 4 diners). Drinks menu is a bit underwhelming for the offerings; wine lovers will find much to like at varied - and very fair - price points.

Everything on the menu is tempting and you know all the offerings will turn out great because of the consistency. So it's always not easy to make decisions on what to order...

We took the family to Davenport for s celebration. It was wonderful. Everyone loved it, even the five year old. I cannot recommend Davenport highly enough. The people, the service, the food, it is all wonderful.

Davenport's is always one of our “go-to” places to enjoy a special evening offering a spectacular menu along with a great selection of wine - both locally and from around the world!

Really surprised at the quality of the food not up to usual standards. Example the steak was served cold and lacking any flavor on the tougher side. I should've sent back but we figured we'd bring home and hope reheating with some seasonings will salvage it.

A fantastic experience, once again at Davenport! Hadn't been since before the pandemic. So happy to find that nothing has changed. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. The food was amazing—in particular the scallops and special duck angliotti. Can't wait to go back?

Truly outstanding. The food was beautifully executed; simple elegance highlighting fresh ingredients. Service was the perfect balance of watchful attentiveness - never verged on too little/too much. We loved that the intent of the dishes are to be shared. Phenomenal wine list. Casually elegant atmosphere. Cannot stop thinking about the scallops, steak, and halibut.

Great place for a special quiet dinner. Wonderful food and pleasant and attentive service! Reasonable sized dishes so that two apiece is plenty. Extensive wine list (though with many prices in 3 digits) and knowledgeable staff.
