Feels like a true tea house. Not some café or corporate owned store. Huge hand picked loose leaf tea selection, also available to take home. Amazing tea ware with art from local artists.

I don't write many reviews but felt compelled to because I've come here intermittently since it opened and it's always such a soothing and revitalizing time. I have a lot of respect for this space and it's easily my favorite tea experience in Portland. Super unique atmosphere, lovely staff, great value. I always learn something about tea when I come here. Big thanks!Vegetarian options: Tea, vegetarian buns and dumplings, dried fruit ?

This spot is a total gem. World class tea house with community building owner. It had a hostel feel that is very welcoming. I enjoy the relaxed style of a Chinese tea ceremony, very casual, might seem irreverent. It’s ok, you can spill the tea ?

This place was different, and I enjoyed the traditional teahouse experience. There are no outside shoes allowed inside of the teahouse, and there are slippers provided for you to use. I thought this was such a unique touch. I enjoyed the tea blend that I got, but I forgot the name of it! It's a great place to go to chill on a chilly day, it is noticeably warm inside, just thought I would mention that!

A beautiful environment to connect with people while enjoying hand crafted tea. The atmosphere was calming, inviting, and refueling; you even get slippers! Steve has a lot of awesome knowledge to share about the world of tea. I'm excited to return with friends and family <3

We stumbled across this tea house in the rain, and was absolutely shocked by the fact that I didn’t know about this amazing haven earlier??? It was like stepping into familiar home from the get go, changing my shoes for slippers.A calming atmosphere decorated with plant life and teapots, the soothing music made for a perfect space to study and chill with my friends. We shared the charcoal roast oolong between three people as it was already quite late (it’s open until 9pm!!) but there was definitely enough for everyone. The owner personally showed us how to pour the tea and let it steep for the best results, and was extremely accommodating of my nosiness and photo taking. He encouraged us to use the space comfortably, to study and chat. We were able to enjoy our tea as well as the atmosphere and get stuff done, which was amazing.Top notch tea and a top notch atmosphere!

Premium teas at a reasonably premium price, absolutely fair for the quality, accompanied by modest range of tasty snacks. Sadly, the overall experience left a rancid and persistent aftertaste, but the proprietor has since responded more than satisfactorily once the problem was brought to his attention.Accompanied by a friend who'd not had gongfu tea service before, we asked the server if he'd explain a little about the equipment and process as he served. "No," the server told us, "the owner offers classes for that, I'm not permitted to just give it away but you can enroll for a [$X.XX] fee." So we began explaining to our friend the equipment and how it's used, given that (the server's implication notwithstanding) items like a cha he and a gaiwan are not proprietary trade secrets but, rather, ancient components of our people's material culture widely available to all. And the server in turn went to great lengths to silence us, interrupting and talking over us aggressively with everything from observations about the weather to tales of supernatural occurrences. Under the circumstances, a two star rating may be over-generous, but anything less seems petty. There is nothing at all wrong with a white person appreciating Chinese tea culture, adopting Chinese tea culture, adapting and innovating and even making a living from Chinese tea culture. The opposite, in fact -- our tea culture is for all to freely engage and enjoy, to the extent of their interest and capacity. But this is precisely why there is something especially wrong with a white tea server asserting (to a Chinese customer, no less) that he and his employer are gate-keepers of Chinese tea culture entitled to demand a toll for entry. Wrong, and infuriating.Happily, the server's employer has now made amply clear that he is in thorough agreement with our critique, deeply regrets the incident, and is prepared to go to great lengths to make good. Such lengths, however, are unnecessary, as he has already made good with his response. We are entirely satisfied that our experience will not be repeated at this establishment, and look forward to revisiting should we pass through Portland in future.

Various selections but the owner doesn’t really know tea for real. He’s good at producing new one which is great.Steve doesn’t accept people who has differ thoughts. That’s his problem.More to say but useless.

A must visit, one of Brooklyns hidden haunts. If you are a tea lover DO visit and remember to take off your shoes at the door. Hospitable and comfortable, just remember to be respectful and mindful of the other patrons inside !!

I was so happy to finally come to Enthea after finding them years ago at Tea Fest. It was a small bag of their Tulsi tea that's now run out that brought me back here (HIGHLY recommend). We sat down to share a pot of peach oolong & just enjoy the relaxing space. Really cool things to look at & a purposeful collection of tea, pots & cups, trays, etc from all over. The tea is great, and so was the person working who was really friendly and helpful..told us a lot of cool facts about teas. My husband's never been exposed to tea so he's not really a "tea guy" and this was his first time trying. He loved it! He really enjoyed having a few cups of tea with Griswold the friendly stuffed cat. We will be back very soon to enjoy more teas, small bites, and their great events they put together. I made sure to stock up on a couple teas so I can have my favorites at home too.

I've come to Enthea several times and expect to return with more friends. From the moment you walk in, you know you're in a special place. Once you change your shoes for clean, fluffy slippers, you've shifted into a kind of sacred space. The staff are eager to help you choose the right tea and are happy to explain the process of multiple steepings. You aren't here for an English cream tea, so if it's a new experience, why not give it a try?
