By far my favorite Sushi spot in Portland. I had the best Nigiri and Sushi rolls. The fish was so fresh, buttery, and delicious. The fatty marbling in the fish was out of this world!

SERIOUSLY so impressed. Came in today and let the kind gentleman to surprise us. We also ordered the uni lovers bowl. Total for us was $198 but the sushi was definitely some of the best and most fresh we had. We will be back. Price reflects quality. We are SO happy to finally try this restaurant.

It's always a pleasure dining at Fish & Rice. Their dishes are always fresh, and the service is top-notch. It's a little whole in the wall behind 23rd avenue, so it can be hard to spot if you're just walking around. But I would highly suggest making a trip out there. Their Bowls are a signature. They look beautiful and taste exquisite. But if you're in the mood for just sushi they also have a great selection.

Tried Fish & Rice for the first time after reading all of the great reviews and I'm happy to say that it was a great place! We got a few rolls from here and even though we thought the prices were pretty hefty compared to competitors, the rolls themselves were delicious, I especially loved the spam roll! The decor of the restaurant is very welcoming and cozy, with large tables suited towards big groups and a few high table chairs for singles or couples. The only thing I disliked about our visit here is that there is a smell that gets into your clothes which is not pleasant. Once we left, the next day our jackets smelled like the restaurant and we had to wash all our clothes from that visit to get rid of it.

Amazing food, super fresh fish, fantastic chill atmosphere, and a super sweet doggo. It was about a 45 minute wait on a Friday evening @ 6:30.

Excellent quality sushi! The chutoro just melts in your mouth. The ikura (salmon roe) is exceptional! I like the minimalistic and spacious design inside which allows one to appreciate and focus on the delicious food! You need to order first then sit down. Try to arrive before the lunchtime/dinner rush as it gets quite busy. If they are busy, order an appetizer as those tend to come out much quicker.

Some of the freshest and delicious sushi and sushi bowl I've ever had. Glad that they're back and I can try them. The pickled grated wasabi is a must to go with each bite of the sushi bowl.

I was in a gigantic hurry but I was STARVING, I rarely get poke bowls but I was craving omegas so I ran in and asked how long it would take to get a dish to go (spicy salmon bowl) the gal who helped me- I think her name was Darla? (she was very pretty with a great smile) and the cook expedited my order as I had a client reading I was running late for- they got my food out so quickly and were so accommodating and sweet. No lie, best salmon poke I have ever had. Simply perfect experience!

Got the 12 piece sashimi bowl on special and it was delicious. Served with REAL pickled Wasabi. We showed up just before they opened and they let us come in and grab a table and wait. Great sushi!!

Visited from ATL and I was on a mission to eat as fresh and tasty as possible seafood and this place didn't disappoint on that front! I went in for lunch shortly after they opened and although a fairly small space, there's a decent amount of seating throughout the restaurant and a cool open kitchen concept. I decided to try out the new Maui Hook bowl that was on the specials menu and it was fantastic! The shrimp breading was crispy on the outside and the meat tender on the inside, the crispy garlic and shallot stayed crispy throughout the duration of my meal, and the flavors of the pineapple, jalapeño, and coconut milk wasabi aioli went soooo well together! Nonstop flavor explosions with every bite! The reason for 3 stars and not 5, is solely because of the fact that there was a random restaurant owned dog strutting around the restaurant. I know that Portland is a super dog friendly city, but this was just too unsanitary for me to ignore. I didn't notice the dog until I was halfway through my meal and it shifted the experience for me; I would really prefer to not dine inside of a restaurant that has a lose dog walking around the kitchen and dining area. I wonder if the dog is also present during health inspection time...
