I wanted to love it. I tend to think if I would’ve tried something else it could’ve been a good experience. Tried veggie-bowl. It was a bit mushy with runny yogurt. She accidentally forgot to put the chili sauce &/or salsa on, so not much flavor. Hopefully they can do well in this economy. I’m happy to see some activity downtown.Vegetarian options: Tempeh

By far my favorite burrito for the last 20+ years. I now live at the coast so I only rarely get one, but I will often plan the timing of a trip to Portland so I can get one.

I like this little food cart/stand. The bowl and topping sizes are always generous and a good value for the amount of healthy protein and carbs I get, especially when I want a really filling lunch. They also have good selection of toppings and sauces if you like some spice. It's also quick and convenient and the woman working is always friendly to me.

When I moved to Portland, Oregon from West Seattle, Washington state... I didn't know there would be sooooo many Food Carts. I noticed that there was a woman who was a few years younger than I am making Burritos on the sidewalk at the cart near the Bank of America ATM near the Morrison Bridge. It was 2000. I also noticed that some of the people in the line didn't want too much of something or another thing on the Menu as listed. I watched as one Caucasian man yelled at the woman making the Burritos because he had missed a TriMet bus once. There was a few people in the line who were also watching the woman putting various items into the Burritos. I waited until there wasn't a line. I asked why so many of the Caucasian people didn't want specific items in their Burrito. I was told that the same people also don't like to wait in the line for their Burritos. I wondered what would happen if I told a random stranger that the Burritos were tasty and didn't need to be altered as that person was walking past the Fuego Food Cart. I told the man "Do you want to order a Burrito? There are healthy options on all of them." He replied that he ate three already that week... he asked me where he could buy Souvlaki. I told him that there's a restaurant on the Eastside. He thanked me. I was told by the woman making the Burritos that that man that I spoke to was one of her "Regualr Hungry Customers" and that in fact... he had ordered the three Burritos earlier that week... the woman remembered serving him. I asked her how much for a half a Burrito... she said... I should just order a whole one with more Tomatoes instead. So... I did... she made my Burrito with more Tomatoes. I asked about what other items the Fuego Food Carts had... besides Burritos. I was told that every Burrito could be made into a Bowl. There wasn't a chair or any seating... so I thanked the woman and walked to the Park Blocks to consume my Burrito. The Burritos are better with more Tomatoes in my opinion.... just ask for them.

Friendly service, but not great food. Beans and rice were undercooked, burritos themselves don't end up with much flavor. Overall, probably better off at one of the main cart pods.

I'm a fan. For what it is, definite 5/5. A fast, tasty burrito that doesn't make me feel like I ate a Lb of quickcrete. $8 for the chicken. Black beans that are not overcooked. Solid portion. Very friendly operator who had rapport with other customers (it was my first visit). Punch card roladex so I don't have to lug around another thing in my wallet. Location couldn't be more convenient for me. No plastic, no styro. WIN.

Sometimes you need to grab something cheap and fast, so you can get back before the lunch break is over. Fuego is perfect for that. It's a one person food stand. Everything was set up to move people. So no worries if the line is long, it'll be your turn before you know it! I got the large chicken burrito, since it's only $1 more than the medium. I figure why not! It was quite a lot of food, and everything tasted good and fresh. The only regret I had was adding the sweet chili sauce to my burrito. I thought it'd be some kind of red salsa, but it turned out to be the Asian sweet chili sauce. It totally offset my taste buds and I wasn't sure what to think of that. PS. It was recommended to me by my professor. He said the vegetarian burrito was really good!
