Unorganized staff. Food isn't terrible, but not especially good. The greens were disgusting. The fried items were overcooked. "playa" punch tastes like generic Kool-Aid. Friend had a burger which looked very dry and wasn't well dressed. Wouldn't try it for a second time.

We found this wonderful restaurant via a Google search, and have zero regrets. We met the owners, incredibly lovely people working hard to produce the excellent food we absolutely devoured. The warm hospitality and conversation with the owners, the fried fish and shrimp, the welcoming atmosphere.. you HAVE to go and enjoy this *almost* hidden gem. We’ll be back with more people for soul food Sunday! Thank you, Marcus and Angelette, for an incredible meal!
I didn't know that this place was available for reviews on maps..any how my husband and I had been supporters of this place since the day they opened...well one night after experiencing a power outage at our home for about 12 hours or so. We came in for a meal I politely asked if they had a number to call to place orders I was already there so it was just a question. This man went completely off the deep end started using foul language and everything. I can see that this has happened with other people of color ? which has me thinking. It really be your own people my husband and I had spent so much money supporting this business but I guess now our little dollars doesn't mean anything I came into this place with a smile on my face left feeling like I was nothing I was worth nothing. But believe me when I say KARMA...UPDATE...LETS BE CLEAR ITS ONLY SLANDER IF IM LYING ON YOUR BUSINESS AND ANOTHER THING THIS IS MY FIRST REVIEW ON MAPS. I DID LEAVE A SIMILAR REVIEW ON ANOTHER PLATFORM THE DAY IT OCCURRED HAD I KNOWN YOU ALL WAS ON MAPS AS WELL I WOULD HAVE BEEN LEFT THE REVIEW. AND YES EVERYONE IS SUBJECTED TO HAVING BAD DAYS BUT TO USE THE TYPE OF LANGUAGE THAT WAS USED TO A PAYING CUSTOMER FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON WHAT SO EVER. Don’t order from Uber eats app! They cancel the order and STILL charge your debit card!!! How many people have they done this to? They did it to me twice for a total of $200.00!!! I will NEVER order from them again and would never go to their restaurant- if they have one! I’m disgusted! Heavy plays will heavily play you, FOR REAL!

My husband and I were visiting our son and we stopped by for lunch. It was amazing! I can’t wait to come back! The service was amazing and the food was even better!
Heavy Plays is so generous and full of warmth. Sunday Soul Food is the best value on the planet!I had an amazing lobster dinner with sides of macaroni and cheese ( Parmesan and cheddar and lots of Gahlic like Emeril would say) collard greens with pork and honey cornbread. Homemade peach tea and sweet and crispy peach cobbler were superb. I have so much leftovers for the rest of the week. I am coming back to try their soup and shrimp and grits. If you are around Sunday between 4 and 8 pick up your fish fry meal for you and friends. check out menu first. It is so authentic and made with love. Lots of games scattered everywhere. Bring your kids It's that mind of a place. You can make memories here. .

My husband and I went into this this place to place an order. As we walked in the owner asked if we were there to pick up an order we said no that we wanted to make an order. With excitement I ask if they had a number to place an order ( assuming because of the order that was ready to be picked up) and him not knowing who was picking up the order. Do you all know because of my question this man started going off cursing at me and everything. Then proceeded to say that it was because he was going through something I guess to justify the way he just went off on me for absolutely nothing. My husband and I mostly my husband had been supporting this business since they opened. But I guess now that they have been open for a few years now our little dollars doesn't matter. And folks always wonder why black people don't support their own because more times then none this is the way you are treated like you don't even matter. This man wasn't even aware that myself along with my husband and our children had just spent the last 7 hours in the dark due to a power outage in our community. I say that to say my day was hell as well but i stepped into this establishment with a smile still on my face ready to yet again support a still up and coming business (BLACK OWNED BUSINESS) and was treated like I was dirt under this man's shoes as if my money wasn't even worth his time this man made me feel like whatever it was that he was going it was my (do you have a phone) question that caused it do what you all will with this information I just hope that whomever still decides to support this business that it never happens to you or your loved one. #shameless and pathetic

(closed on Mondays) this hidden neighborhood gem has a some delicious menu items. My favorites are the seafood alfredo and banana pudding (yum!)I highly recommend calling ahead and doing pickup. Seating inside is minimal. They share a parking lot with two other restaurants + one other business and the lot is tiny and street parking is usually full, because of all the neighboring condos.

Food is definitely heavy, and will guarantee you'll have left overs. They've been around for 2 years but I'm just now seeing them!! service was great, she recommended some stuff for us and ambiance was cozy and homey. Ordered the steak pasta, soup and fish dinner!
