What I love about Portland is diving into the abundance of Gluten Free food. Honey Butter Country Fare, was the very clear winner this trip with simply outstanding food. I will admit, I've never tried deep fried Oreos or asparagus in it's gluten form before, but man biting into the gluten free deep fried asparagus was a real, melt in your mouth, delicious treat. My daughter ended up stealing them from me, and then requesting a second order (even over the funnel cake!). Hands down will drive out of my way for this food again. The funnel cake was just as I remember it from the fair over a decade ago- though definitely smaller proportions. The fried Oreos were yummy, the fried pickles were filled with molten lava pickle juice that was delicious. The corn dog was good, but note the batter had little seeds in it that made the texture a bit different. My husband gave the fried chicken two thumbs up! Thank you for making something so delicious!

I tried Honey Butter Country Fair today, as a surprise trip my Hubby took me on while we were in Portland. The eating area was warm and inviting, and located with Munantis Brewery and Bottle Shop. The food was fresh, and I love that as a Celiac, this food is 100% safe for me to eat! I enjoyed the Fried Chicken with JoJo’s and a Funnel Cake! Chewy, crunchy, cinnamon yum! With fresh made whipped cream. I have never had a funnel cake, and I want more!. We enjoyed our food in Mutantis, where we had a gluten free beer, served by an attentive Friendly and knowledgeable Bartender. The food was full of flavor, crunchy and fun to eat! The beer was the best beer I have had in a long time! The sauces were delicious. I can’t wait to go again! Thank you for the fun atmosphere, yummy food, and the beers for taking home! PLEASE CONSIDER OPENING ONE IN BEAVERTON!Vegetarian options: I am not familiar enough with the Vegetarian options, but I know that there were many good options.Dietary restrictions: I am a Celiac, and I love that I have no worries of cross contamination of any kind.Kid-friendliness: Children would love the Fair Food experience!
Great food, bad business practices.They've sold out often and in the middle of their hours NOT just the end. They had no chicken or potatoes and always say they're "busy" as an excuse.... Maybe you wouldn't be so busy if you were open more than three days a week?! Forcing people to only come then will KEEP you busy. This is the same complaint from a year ago, it's simply managed poorly. I'm not going to keep coming back to only be disappointed AGAIN.

SOOOOO GOOD. Unbelievably good. I am a changed person after this corn dog experience. Between three of us, we ordered their basic/classic corn dog, the fried chicken meal, the “heat wave,” a funnel cake, and the fried Oreos. EVERYTHING WAS 10/10. Chef’s kiss. Real kiss. I want to climb in this cart and hug the owners. I will be back to overeat, ASAP. ?
If you can’t have gluten, this is like everything you’ve ever dreamed of being able to eat while watching your partner eat fair food. The corn dogs, fried chicken & funnel cake and the deep fried Oreo’s were insanely good!Dietary restrictions: Everything Gluten Free!

One word - OBSESSED. My boyfriend has Celiac so it’s super hard to find options for him, and I almost cried when he took a bite of the corn dog (get the one with peanut sauce, trust me). The CRUNCH. The FLAVOR. By far best corn dog he or I have ever had. The funnel cake and fried Oreos were just as amazing cold, 4 hours later, as they were when we first tried them (we saved some for later that night).He hasn’t had fair food since before he had his diagnosis, so this was definitely a core memory. Do yourself a favor, whether you’re gluten-free or not, and give this food truck a visit. Everything was top-notch and we will definitely be stopping by here whenever we find ourselves in the area.

We ordered 2 funnel cakes (the cinnamon sugar & the powdered sugar with whipped cream), the pancake hotdog on a stick & Bobbi’s garlic spud potatoes. Everything was so fresh & seriously tasted Amazing! I would come back to Portland just for that cinnamon sugar funnel cake alone! Omg it was Heavenly! I haven’t been able to eat a funnel cake in years. These taste even better than regular funnel cakes imo. After our meal, we ordered another cinnamon sugar funnel cake to take with us & I wish I’d ordered 10 more to freeze to have later! It was not as soft this morning, but a few seconds in the microwave wrapped in a wet paper towel brought it back to life. The owners threw in a cinnamon sugar whipped cream with the 2nd c.s. funnel cake & that made it taste even better. The pancake hotdog was so good too! My daughter had the loaded potatoes. She loved the flavors, including a garlic spread & the fresh garlic loaded on top of them. They tasted fantastic!We left very full & very happy!!Definitely worth the time going there again & again!Thanks again!!Dietary restrictions: Amazing that the food here is all gluten free! It all taste exactly like (or better then) the faire food with gluten!! No need to worry about cross- contamination

After months of schedules not aligning, I finally got to try HBCF (worst/best part: I discovered I’m a 10 minute walk from it) — As a vegan, I am not AT ALL disappointed!!!!!! I decided to go classic and try the Honey Butter Jumbo Vegan and oh hot damn was that thing HUGE!!! I was not prepared even though it said jumbo. Absolutely brought me back to being a kid at the fairgrounds with my family, begging my mum to get me a corn dog. I was absolutely delighted to see that everything is gluten free and the menu is nearly vegan (with dedicated vegan fryers). The only thing that would make this better, is if it was a fully vegan establishment; and whilst it isn’t, they’ve done a great job of making it vegan-safe. Will absolutely be back to try all the other vegan stuff on the menu.Vegetarian options: Is actually vegan, not vegetarian.
Everything here is absolutely incredible and all gluten free! A celiac's dream! We especially love the corn dogs, pancake dogs, deep fried oreos, and funnel cakes but you really can't go wrong.
