What a nice hidden gem! We tried their spicy and soy garlic flavored Korean fried chicken and both were delicious and crispy. Portions were generous, and the rice, potato salad, and pickled radish that came with the bowl were a nice accompaniment. Spend the extra $1.50 for a side of kimchi. It is yummy! We are looking forward to coming back and trying the other flavors of chicken, and also their tteokbokki, beef bulgogi, and Korean style hot dogs.Only negatives are no indoor seating, and outdoor seating is sparse and not really suitable for big people.Vegetarian options: You can get fried tofu instead of chicken.Kid-friendliness: Easy to eat, non spicy options.

This was my first time at Honey Spicy. The reviews looked promising. To start off with the chicken was delicious. 10/5 stars. Perfectly cooked and the honey sauce was delicious. I had the Crispy Honey Butter Chicken Bowl. Now the sides are where it got interesting. The purple rice was bland, even for rice. Tossing it with some of the sauce helped a little. The house salad was something like a red cabbage in a vinegar which was a nice counterpart to the sweet chicken. The potato macaroni salad was... interesting. But again, very bland. Think dry-ish mashed potatoes with elbow macaroni. Yeah, I thought the same thing you just did. My recommendation would be to get the chicken and skip the sides.
I only write reviews when needed. This food is absolutely outstanding. I had ordered the lemon chicken, garlic wings, potstickers, and the jalapeño chicken. The flavors are wow.. chefs kiss ; the food was freshly made not reheated. I was hesitant on the purple rice because I’ve never seen that, but it was delicious. Chicken was cooked to perfection with a slight crunch. 10/10 recommend. The restaurant was clean, the cashier was very friendly. I will definitely go back!

Small food shop in SW Portland, perfect for Korean corn dogs and other delights like tteokbokki and spicy fried dumplings, amazing pistachio flavored boba tea!! Their mains are sauced a ton and so flavorful and quite affordable!! Please stop by while you're here! This location has a special flavor of chicken/tofu, visit to see what it is!!!Vegetarian options: All meat options come with tofu, and all corn dogs come with cheese! Not vegan, but vegetarian!
The BEST tteok-bokki I’ve had in Portland and I’ve probably tried them all. Not overly sweet which I feel like a lot of the other restaurants serving this dish do, they give you a LOT of rice cake so it’s a great portion for the price, they add a boiled egg which is traditional for this dish and a lot of places don’t add, and it tastes on par with the tteok-bokki I’ve had in Korea. The service was very friendly and ready in 10minutes. So glad I found this place!

Ordered over doordash, this was 100% worth the money!! The chicken is incredibly tender and juicy and flavorful (I had the lemon chicken bowl) and I absolutely love the presentation of the to-go boxes! They come in this super cute bento box made out of paper/cardboard so it’s recyclable. Love the rice too, it’s the perfect sticky rich texture. The pickled radish is sweet and sour with a nice crisp, which balances everything out. Mac salad is just alright, it’s a little bit bland but it also adds a nice creaminess to the mix. The only other thing I’ll add, which is less of a complaint and more of a preference, was that the sauce was a bit more salty than I’d like - but that’s just me! Overall I loved it and will be ordering again to try out other things on the menu

Love love love! Fresh! Creative! The secret Fusion is really CORN DOGS GONE WILD!! CHICKEN TENDER & Flavors amazing! The take out boxes/bags are TOP QUALITY!! They don’t skimp on the quality to line their own pockets for sure!! VERY IMPRESSED!Kid-friendliness: Nothing to destroy. Good kid menu.Wheelchair accessibility: PrettyEasy layout. Door just in front of parking area.
This place use to be 5 star and my go to restaurant when the owners first opened. Then they left and it immediately went down hill. About 2 weeks ago I picked up my usual and it breading was soggy mush and the chicken was overcooked. Then today it was much better but, still not crunchy like Korean food should be. Either they aren't using enough corn flour or not double frying it. Hopefully the owners will read this and do some more training.
