We have been getting sushi from Ichiban for 25 years. It’s consistently good. The people are so nice as well. I’m very glad to have them in the neighborhood!

Ordered their Chirasi and I was disappointed. Not YUMMYFUL at all! The squid and octopus had a smell already, which isn’t fresh anymore. The rest were cold and/or a little bit frozen. The service was good and the lady was attentive to the customers. The environment was somewhat cozy with nice Japanese pictures on the wall.Parking: Plenty of parking spaces since the restaurant is in a strip mall.

This is a small place tucked away in the Safeway shopping area, just past Dollar Tree. The sushi is fresh all fresh, and their bentos are perfect! Every single menu item we've had here has been mouth watering good! The service is always there when you need them, but they are so great you barely notice them until you need them. It's an intimate setting with each seating area being separated and almost secluded. The artwork is beautiful, and there's a calming atmosphere that just relaxes you while you eat.My husband and I HIGHLY recommend trying this place next time you want good sushi, or a lovely and filling dinner.Parking: Parking is pretty easy. There are plenty of spaces all around the lot, and quite a lot very close as this place is near the end, away from the bigger shops.

I decided to try this 'neighborhood local restaurant' for the first time. I wasn't sure what to order, but gave the server and idea of meat and requested pan friend. She said I KNOW what to bring you. I got a teriyaki chicken dish. The chicken was so tough, I could not cut it with a table knife. The noodles had a burnt taste, which was also STUCK to the hot plate. The server never returned to the table until she dropped off the bill. I paid and left. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.

This is one of the most legit Japanese restaurants in Portland. If you want sushi from an actual Japanese chef, with the ambiance you expect, this is it. The sushi is always fresh, delicious and beautiful and the ambience is exactly what you want for a sushi restaurant. 5 stars every time

This has been one of my (& my family's) favorite sushi places for years (decades for me now). I'd first heard about Ichiban from two friends (in different circles) back in the early 2000s, tried it once, and quickly became hooked. It was (is?) a popular go-to lunch spot for me & my Nike co-workers (back in the day), as well as for others working in the vicinity, not to mention a regular (weekly?) dinner destination for my husband & I early in our marriage.Ichiban has a wide selection of delicious sushi rolls as well as a number of fully-cooked options for the non-sushi/raw fish lovers in your group. The owners run the place, and treat pretty much every customer (first timers or otherwise) like long-time friends; they've known our son his entire life, and we've heard their family updates over the years as well, and they never hesitate to ask about my family when I'm there without them. You can tell from the number of Christmas photo cards on display (spanning several years) that we're not the only family that's gotten to know them! ;)Their restaurant business seemed to have stayed strong both through and post-pandemic, and although we have moved closer to the Tigard side of Beaverton, we still make the trip to fill our bellies. (And I may or may be one who buys waaaay more rolls than I can realistically eat in one sitting, just so I have leftovers to eat later.)*FYI: Their "spicy" sushi isn't for the faint-hearted; I'm pretty certain there's no mayo mixed in with the Sriracha!Give them a try!Parking: Lots of parking available

Quaint little place, certainly hole in the wall vibes. Food was solid, but nothing fancy. If they are very busy, keep in mind it might be slow since the staff is basically the couple that run it and a person doing prep in back.

Love these little gems tucked away in a strip mall you would normally drive right by. This is that small Mom & Pops place that you should definitely add to your list of places to go for a laid back , no rush dining experience. I look forward to future visits to try the many entrees offered on the menu. Service ✅ Food ✅ Atmosphere✅. Mahalo Ichiban! ??

Very welcoming chef and server. The best tempura I’ve ever had. The sushi was fresh and delicious. Looking forward to visiting again.

I have tried this place several times and I am real happy with it. High quality sushi at a reasonable price for the area. The portions a little on the small side but overall still a reasonable value. Favorites are the Tiger and Salmon skin roll. A go back place.

Food was delicious. Our favorite was Spicy Super Crunch Roll straight out of Compton. The Tempora was delicious too just like you. Staff is extremely friendly and they were not even busy at all. Too busy smiling probably. Also, side note the iced tea was hella fresh. Flex.
