After reading rave reviews, I decided to try this place out and ordered dinner here for my birthday a little over a week ago.I'm someone who LOVED dim sum prior to being vegan. It was one of my favorite cuisines, so I couldn't wait to give this place a try!Unfortunately, I was majorly disappointed in the taste and texture of most of my dishes. The bunny buns were cute, but the dumpling to filling ratio felt very off. The vegan shrimp in another dish I ordered had such an undesirable rubbery texture. The congee was flavorless.I'm someone who loathes food waste and usually do everything I can to prevent it, but my fiancé and I ended up tossing most of the food we picked up from here. :(It was such a bummer too because the staff was super friendly and even threw in a free dessert to help me celebrate my special day!I hate leaving low reviews, but wanted to provide my honest feedback to the business.

I have never had such good vegan, gluten-free Chinese food. The dumplings are so cute and the food was absolutely incredible and I literally cannot say enough how good this was. Go here now.

Jade Rabbit is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. The flavors are always on point, and the presentation is world class. The fact that the food is also vegan makes me SO happy!

Jade Rabbit has been my go to ever since they moved into SE Portland. From cute bunny buns to tasty vegan dim sum, this place needs to be on your “must try” Portland food list! ??

I would consider myself a carnivore but this place has given me life after meat. The faux meat in this dim sum satisfied my umami craving but did not leave me bloated and engorged. I absolutely LOVED the bawan buns and the buldak fire chicken really tastes like chicken! I am a believer and will be coming back fo sho!

Just want to start off by saying how much I appreciate having vegan dim sum as an option. For me, the prices are quite steep for the tiny portions. As for the quality, they were okay, didn't blow me away, but just okay. A few items were better than the rest -- turnip cakes, chili oil wontons, and the kimchi was also pretty good. The rest of the dim sum dishes were on the gummier side and bit underwhelming. I found the boudok rather salty so only ate a few bites, but do appreciate the "chickeness" of it. I recognize this being the only vegan dim sum option in Portland (that I know of), I can't help but compare it to my recent experiences in Vancouver, perhaps, made me quite biased. Would I get it again? Probably not...but definitely worth a try.

The Chili Wontons are to DIE for. Get them! Get lots of them! Also, the steamed tapioca dumplings shaped like little bunnies-- get them. They are tasty and honestly, a unique experience. I don't think I have ever had food I would call, "cute" until I tried these. I really enjoyed the service here and felt very welcomed by them.

The food has gone down hill. I have given them 3 chances and each has been a huge disappointment. My rice is always mush, the mapo tofu was a half cup of tofu and oil for $12, and the food has no flavor and way to much salt. The only thing I recommend off their menu is the appetizers. I really hate giving a bad review, but enough is enough!

This place has fallen off hugely in the last month or so. I used to eat here regularly. I have slowly stopped eating here and given them so many chances the last several weeks. They may have changed cooks or something but I am stopping eating here completely. When I tried to give them feedback on Instagram they blocked me.

Loved the rabbits definitely didn't like the location it was in a shady looking parking lot and didn't have indoor or outdoor seating

Jade Rabbit is a vegan dimsum spot, offering takeout and delivery only. I love eating vegan whenever possible, and I'm a big dimsum fan, so I was excited to learn of this place and give it a try! If you're getting takeout, it's easy to miss - they're located at SE 10th and Hawthorne, behind Helium Comedy Club. Use the fenced parking lot with an entry off 10th. Below the awesome rabbit mural. Pickup area leaves much to be desired. It's in a warehouse loading zone. They've got a decent table set up with some signs and decor, but the chairs could be nicer or cleaner and maybe some potted plants or something would help it feel like a better pickup experience. Especially as our takeout order was ready ~15 minutes later than the quoted time. For a group of four, we ordered three of their menu's "big bowls" in the $13-15 range and six of the "handmade dim sum" items in the $5-8 range, plus the included sides of rice. We got: chili oil wontons, lumpia, siu mai, bawan buns, lo mai gai, cheung fun, buldak fire chicken, adobo, and kimchi-jjigae. Total pre-tip was $84. There were certain items we liked more than others, but overall our impression was that there is not enough food for the cost, especially among the main dishes. For a $15 "big bowl," presented without service or plates, I would hope to have something larger than the smallest takeout container size. That said, some of our faves from among the handmade dimsum were the chili oil wontons, the adorable bawan buns, and the cheung fun. I like the textures of the vegan meats they're using and the sauces/flavors were good overall. I just wish there was more of it! Or that the whole menu were tapas/small plate style.

Food was very bland. My stomach hurt right after eating. I think it’s because all of the food was cold even the broth.

The food was mediocre. They charged also charged me me for utensils and I didn’t receive any. They also forgot my broth
