Worst Jamaican food restaurant in Portland. Idk what yaad they come from but it’s not in Jamaica. As a Caribbean, this is among the worst food I’ve had since I’ve moved here from Florida. My best friend and I even felt very nauseated after eating here. Please don’t waste your money. Food smelled sour after only one hour. We didnt finish it within the same time we bought it. Good shouldn’t smell spoiled after 1 hour. Portions were small. They need to be shut down or get new management. The 4.2 rating should be a 0. DO NOT EAT HERE!

As a Jamaican, I wish I could give this place zero. The utter disrespect. The food was nasty to begin with. The festivals were black..they were burned and hard..you get ALOT of old heated up rice and a tiny piece of meat that was all bones with 2 mouthful of veggies for $17. Are you guys okay? They better be happy I didn't open the bag while I was there. Please leave Jamaica name out of this foolishness.

Just ordered take out. Specifically requested for food to be secured properly. Half order missing AGAIN!! Food quality drastically different and terrible, portion size for small child. This place is terrible and shouldn't be allowed to under deliver this way. I paid 80$ for lunch size amount of food . If I could give below zero review, I'd give -1000.

I don't understand how this place charged what the charge when you get half a container of rice , half a scoop of cabbage, and 2/3 of a piece of chicken.The rice was mush, too small of portions, and just wtaf???Do better.

Wow! This food was so delicious! I used to think Jamaican rice was not as flavorful, but I stand corrected! I grew up with Haitian rice so I can be picky. I will definitely be ordering food from Jamaican Homestyle Cuisine again!

Eh. Not terrible food quality but I like the other nearby Jamaican spot much more, this place isn't as flavorful and savory. They also have no seating inside (just a couple wood tables out front) and have no beer. I've tried their Curry Goat & Curry Chicken and the curry for both was pretty thin & bland. The meat tasted like it was just thrown in the curry at the last second. Also the sides of rice and beans & cabbage were pretty flavorless as well. The curry goat was especially disappointing as it was almost $30 ($28 I believe) as it was a pretty paltry serving of goat and it was more bones than goat. Did I mention they don't have beer?

Never again is all I can say, it says curry goat but I don't think it is. In all my life eating curry goat I've never seen 3 Hugh chunks of meat ever. When I buy goat to cook, it's cut into a inch to inch and a half cuts. The taste was also off like it's not being seasoned correctly.
I go here at least twice a month everything on the menu is terrific, my favorites are curry chicken meal Or oxtail meal. The jerk chicken is also really good, the owners are nice and friendly and they treat customers like family. Tank yuh!

Beef patty was cold and I ordered plantain with my food we waited over 20 min and the plantain wasn’t with our food. Didn’t even receive an apology for it. Curry chicken is nasty no flavor at all!!!!!!!!!! and the jerk chicken is way too spicy to even eat. Never had jerk chicken be that spicy. I won’t return YAAD Jamaican food is my favorite. I will stick to that.

Fried dumplin are like rocks. Should be soft inside, golden brown and crispy on the outside not hard and bun up. It looked like a festival but definitely didnt taste like it. Either way.. it was a brick. If you have a Jamaican resturant and the fried dumplin not right... you need some new cooks.Chicken not cooked properly still look red inside. Food lack flavor. Where's the coconut in the rice and peas?Also the last time I was there my order took too long to come out. All I ordered was a pattie and some fried dumplins. My mother could whip up a few fried dumplins in 5 minutes... shouldn't take 45 minutes. Was not expecting that.You guys need to do better because your shop wouldn't last this long in the east coast. You know this is not how you cook jamaican food. Your out here fooling these white people ?
