Sizeable portion of chill, fun vibes of the customer service but the food was great too! So grateful for their V/GF options for basically every menu item. Not bad prices + they were open on a Sunday late afternoon when most of the other Asian carts there weren't. Pictured: Tofu La Mai

Ordered the Mai Thai curry plate on Easter. Not only was it delicious, she also added an Easter egg with a treat in my bag. Highly recommend!

The food here is consistently delicious, and the owner/cook is so sweet. Big portions (perfect for leftover lunch) and great vegan options. The La Mai Plate is probably my favorite rice dish I've eaten anywhere.

I always forget to take pictures because the food is so good! Their peanut sauce is so good I could drink it. I am still working through their menu but everything I've tried has been amazing!!

I’ve been going to La Mai Plate for years and I absolutely love this food cart. Cha, the owner/chef is the kindest person! She always remembers my partner and I and is so friendly and joyful to be around. There are so many vegan options on the menu. I have my favorites like the curry puffs, summer rolls and la mai noodles but the seasonal options are so different and always so good. I look forward to fall the most when there are a lot of innovative pumpkin and squash dishes on the menu.I also look forward to seeing how Cha has decorated the cart for the season. There’s so many personal, sweet touches to this food cart that make it so special. It’s a great spot because you know you’ll always get something tasty, you’ll be treated so sweetly and you’ll want to come back again and again.Vegetarian options: Most of the dishes on the menu can be made vegan and or vegetarian.

This place is the BEST. I love the sellwood food carts, but this one is a particular stand out. I always come here for the Avocado Salad which is consistently so perfect. The woman who runs the operation is so talented and kind. Would definitely recommend and there is usually open spots to sit with colorful benches right next to the cart

Recommendation from a friend to visit Sellwood and stop by La Mai Plate, and so glad we did! The food cart pod had great dining options and some seating throughout. Our group ordered La Mai Noodles, crab puffs, mango curry, and lavender lemonade. I really enjoyed the crab puffs! The outsides were crisp with a beautiful green puff wrapper. The filling was creamy, and little pieces of corn. Surprise corn! I really enjoyed my mango curry. Flavorful, a touch of heat. I had leftovers and added extra stuff at home - the curry that keeps giving. If you're looking for a little walk after your meal, walk west a few blocks from La Mai into the residential area. There's a house with friendly goats and chickens out front!

La Mai Plate has been on my businesses-to-visit list for a while now and I'm so glad I finally made it. Definitely recommend this food cart! I can't wait to come back to try more of their menu. This biz owner is someone you want to support. So friendly and making delicious food that she's passionate about. She gave an accurate time estimate for when the food would be ready and used a beeper so I could retreat to my air conditioned car. I ordered: -La Mai Plate - have to get the one named after the biz right? Rice dish packed with spices, loaded with perfectly cooked tofu that looks like meat but isn't. (Can also get chicken.) Plus topped with nuts, onions, and other crunchy and flavorful things. Super tasty! -Summer Rolls - so fresh! Lettuce, mango, avocado, felt like a little tropical vacation in my mouth. Plus a great peanut sauce for dipping. Portion size? Generous. Easily able to split between two people. I took my food to-go but there is seating at this food cart pod. It's a couple of picnic tables under a tent. La Mai Plate's hours can vary, so check their social media.

Went to La Mai today for lunch, and it hit the spot.. my friend recommended La Mai as I wanted something vegetarian, so ended up ordering the Summer Roll, Mango Curry with Tofu, and Giner Orange with Tofu. The summer roll tasted very fresh, there was so much flavor with a slight kick to the mango curry, and the ginger orange was all in all hearty. Plus the owner (I presume) was great -- fantastic service and friendly. I'd highly recommend La Mai.
