I couldn’t understand the ladies English so I kept saying what and she started screaming at me and wouldn’t let me use the bathroom and lied to me that it was broken but it wasn’t and when they were making the food they didn’t wear

Great little “hole in the wall” authentic Japanese sushi restaurant. The food was legit! But this is definitely not the place to go if you are in any kind of a hurry as the service is pretty slow. However, I believe that has more to do with the freshness and quality of the food they serve rather than the employees themselves, so it’s a fair trade off if you’re looking for something other than your average run of the mill sushi-go-round that you can find anywhere.Oddly enough, they take your order table side, but then immediately ask you to pay for your meal upfront before they will put your order in with the kitchen. Not necessarily a bad thing, just a bit odd.But the food here is top notch, with generous portion sizes too. I wouldn’t make a special trip, but it’s definitely worth stopping in for a visit if you are in the area.

One of the best, quality sushi spots in the greater Portland area.

Cute little place in downtown Tigard. Came here for a date night. We got miso soup, edamame, and a few sushi rolls and everything was delicious. Great service and we are looking forward to going back soon!

My favorite Japanese restaurant in the area. Ran by at least three Japanese people, unlike a ton of other "Japanese" restaurants that are actually ran by non-Japanese owners. The flavor of everything I've tried thus far is exactly how it tastes in Japan. Too many chefs try to do their own "take" on Japanese food, but Japanese food is traditional. This restaurant gets it right. Extremely polite service. Please give them a try if you love Japanese food.

One of my few favorite Japanese restaurants at the west side of Willamette river. Always clean environment and delicious food. Love their sushi roll, nigiri and lunch box.

MA & PA MAKIThis place is a Tigard gem. It’s so good that I wouldn’t want it to become popular and overwhelm the folks who own it. They seem to prefer smaller crowds and so a great job with service when their little restaurant isn’t packed full of hungry people. They get the same fish that every place in Portland area gets, but slice and present it beautifully in a very clean environment. Prices are reasonable for what you get and I would be hard-pressed to pick one of the popular local chains over this joint.Housemade gyoza are delicious and worth a try. The beer on tap was a little flat. Next time, I want to order the salmon or yellow tail cheek.Hopefully they are not paying much rent here, as the building is literally crumbling and shows many signs of dis-repair.Pro-Tip: There is a free public parking lot behind the restaurant in case you struggle to find street parking out front.

Not sure why people rave about this place, it's a solid OK. We were a party of 9 and the place was half empty. The owner almost turned us away. We ordered appetizers, noodles and sushi. I make better mackerel at home. So expensive for mediocre. Not returning.

This hidden gem is by far the best sushi and Japanese restaurant I have found in the Portland area. Would never go anywhere else! Fresh, delicious, authentic food with attentive service in a lovely atmosphere.

So I started with two pieces of Nigiri, 1 salmon, 1 tuna: absolutely fresh and so well made, & the taste, you just know it is fresh. So many times I get sushi and you just know it is getting old, not here. The I had a serious combo roll with 3 different rolls, crazy good. Can't say enough about this place. I live in Florida, and this is as good as I get at home on the beach.

Cozy restaurant with no logo outside the door. The entire staff was Japanese and very nice. At the end, she gave us some after dinner green tea. Spent lots of money but no regrets.

We hit this place on a Sunday night for the first time. It was quiet and service was excellent. We ordered rainbow roll, spicy tuna, mackerel, and octopus. Everything was delicious and generously portioned. We'll definitely be coming back.
