I’ve had middle eastern food in these food carts almost in every major city and I can confidently say this is the worst of all I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t say it’s objectively bad, but it’s just that food carts are often so good that this place doesn’t reach that threshold. We’ve had the chicken over rice; the chicken, which I’m pretty sure, is stale. It doesn’t chew right. The rice is okay. However, the sauces that provide a lot of flavor are kinda bland. Even when I asked for a lot of white sauce, he kinda disregarded it. While I was confirming what exactly comes in the box, he wouldn’t answer and just shrugs off.And most importantly, I’m not sure why it’s $14, when it’s way cheaper in bigger cities like NYC, SFO, and Philly (you can get really good food for like $8-$10). There are several carts right next to this, and it seems to be like the standard price for some reason.

Order: Chicken Shawarma Wrap & Fry's $19 total Pros: Sooo at first I was like they are expensive. But then I got the plate and I was like sheesh this a lot of food. The food was flavorful, hot, and filled to capacity. There was no skimping on this plate. Cons: n/a

My food is always fresh and hot, perfectly seasoned. My #1 go to in Portland. It's the only place I've ever eaten at here that actually seasons the food.

I'VE BEEN CONVERTED. You guys. BEST LAMB GYRO IN PORTLAND. Most of my life I've stayed away from meats outside of the basic chicken, beef, turkey, etc. but WOW. After a friend got me the lamb gyro from here and tricked me into believing it was beef, I have been converted to LOVING lamb gyro. I have been here several times since and the meat is perfectly seasoned, flavorful, does not taste to game-y or tough. HIGHLY recommend their lamb gyro "with everything" and you will not be disappointed. Don't trust me? Look at how this food cart is the busiest one. I've also tried the Mediterranean cart just 3 slots down and while pretty good, why settle when you can have the best here? I also recommend another cart called Shawarma Express. Their lamb gyro is also amazing--a close second to here! If you come here late at night, it's pretty sketchy but there are usually lots of people coming and going so you don't feel too out of place. There's also plenty of free parking late at night so that's a plus too. Otherwise, it's street parking or a pay-for-parking lot right behind this cart.
Dietary restrictions: Not all meat is halal. The owner said Chicken and beaf are halal only.

Great food truck for quick and delicious Mediterranean. Hummus is super smooth and creamy, the falafel has incredible flavor and texture, and the lamb gyro really hits the spot if you’re digging something meaty.Vegetarian options: Plenty of falafel and hummus meals with salad and rice options
