7$ for 2 eggs? 4$ to "add walnuts"? All this to feel like you are in a high-school cafeteria. No wonder Portland Downtown feels empty. Keep prices fair.

An absolute delight for brunch! I was in Portland for only a day and 2 people highly recommended this spot and it did not disappoint. They usually have a great list of specials. I had the pancakes with strawberry and whipped cream, the salmon hash, French press coffee and cinnamon pecan roll.Everything was delicious and felt like it was homemade from fresh ingredients. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, gave us lots of suggestions on what and how to order. The cafe has an overall fancy french bistro vibe

Mother's bistro is a wonderful place for brunch or lunch. I have never been there for dinner. The staff is always friendly and efficient. The menu is huge, and everything on it looks amazing. I love the Greek omelette, biscuits, and salads, and my friend said the chopped liver is amazing. The grapefruit Mimosa was delicious.

Extremely tasteless food.. how do they do it is magic. Service is good though and seating is nice. But it fails the basics...bland boring food

Good overall, but the fish I ordered had (what I think) two tiny pieces of bacon even though I made sure to tell them to not put bacon in the snapper from today’s menuSo maybe they put it then removed it… which ruined the experience for meThe best thing in the dining experince was the bread served at the beginning

We ordered the eggs Benedict, lox platter and half biscuits and gravy with two eggs. 2 cups of coffee. The food came out less than 10 minutes from when we ordered it. The eggs Benedict was lukewarm at best. The biscuits and gravy and eggs were barely warm. The toasted bagel was the warmest thing that came to the table. We sent back the biscuits and gravy. They remade it, and it was much better. But not great. Not sure how such a large place can be putting out food at that rate of speed. Other than wondering, if it’s all pre-cooked. The server never checked back on the food. He came by to refill the coffee and we informed him that our food came out cold. It’s almost like he didn’t want to ask how the food was. $60 for two people for breakfast, extremely disappointing morning.

We showed up to Portland with a hungry track team of 40. We called Mother’s very last minute, and they were more than willing to accommodate us! We showed up and they had already set up seating for us, and were extremely efficient and kind with rounding up all of the orders. The food came out shockingly fast and was to die for. Me and one of the other coaches split the Mike’s Scramble and it was bliss after one bite. Even with the huge group, the staff was great about checking on everyone and making sure we all had drinks and were served.Overall it was a great experience during a very hectic trip to Oregon. I would highly recommend Mother’s to anyone who is visiting the area and give a huge thank you from Boise High Track & Field!

Undoubtedly the best brunch in Portland. I’ve yet to have anything bad here. Their mimosas are the perfect ratio of OJ and champagne plus a nice strawberries purée AND they don’t serve them in a tiny little champagne glass for 20 bucks like other brunch spots. The Mike’s scramble is always delicious and if you order a cinnamon roll, be prepared to split it with four people as it’s huge! They moved locations a few years back and I truthfully miss their old venue as I thought the vibe was a little bit cooler, but a small trade-off to not have to wait 60 minutes for a table anymore. Service is always spot on. You are never rushed but also don’t we have to wait an hour for someone to refill your coffee. Again, best in town.

For two people who don't like our Mom's we had a great Sunday brunch. Place was packed but without a reservation things were still moving along at a ten minute wait for a table. The eggs benedict on their specials menu was easily the best I've had. Velvety, buttery and definitely homemade. Don't let the gold wallpaper fool you, people were dressed for the opera and just rolled out of bed, come as you are.

The service and atmosphere are wonderful and the food is good. However, the quality of the food doesn't quite match the price point.

We used to love Mother's. The food was wonderful. They've moved into a hotel and ALL of our breakfast tasted pre-cooked and warmed over. The only bright spot was good service. Win't be back.

If you are looking for excellent food and outstanding service, Mother’s is the place to go. I was visiting Portland this weekend and enjoyed the breakfast on Saturday so much that we went back before my flight home today (Sunday). Yesterday, Nick managed tricky orders with our larger group really well and was super friendly. Today, Emily went out of her way to provide excellent service and spread sunshine and kindness. On the food front, the French toast coated in corn flakes was delicious, and the cooks did a great job making crispy bacon that was not burnt. The friend I was visiting loved the tofu dish he had yesterday and also really enjoyed his oatmeal and bananas today. Our other friends were also very happy with their dishes yesterday….The place has a great vibe. I look forward to heading to Mother’s again on my next trip to Portland!

All around, a great experience! I took my mom here. It was the 1st time for the both of us. We both really enjoyed our food, and she will tell you it's the best waffle she's ever had! Very friendly staff. We look forward to coming back.
