Outside seating was perfect for the 65 degree weather. The food was absolutely delicious. We got the burnt ends deviled eggs, happy hour ribs (a little dry) and the happy hour Mac and cheese bowl. The Mac and cheese bowl was amazing, perfect amount of cheese, not greasy or oily, delicious pulled pork and the crushed chips on top were well suited for the dish. Definitely recommend.Parking: Great location in the heart of town so we walked. Looked like there was plenty of on street parking on the same block if not around the side streetsKid-friendliness: Kids welcome, bar feel and outdoor seating was spacious

This was really good food in a very loud bar with tv screens, shabby waitstaff, wrong drinks, and overall bad bar environment. The music was so loud it was hard to have a conversation. We’ll probably return, but get it to go. Our neighborhood already has plenty of loud bars. It would be great to have a nice BBQ restaurant where we could take people to enjoy a nice meal.

Service was great. The food however was not. Brisket , Mac, fries were both salty and dry. Fried chicken was stale and unfresh. Service on the other hand was both fast and efficient.

The food was excellent and fast with great portions, the host and our server were both awesome and friendly! Can’t decide if the food or service was better! I Can’t wait to go again.
I guess this is BBQ in Portland. I saw the reviews and had to check it out. In short: Portland has low standards for barbecue. In the brisket, ribs, coleslaw, and sauces each lacked anything special to make it stand out and feel satisfying. I was a little concerned when I saw tempeh on the menu—the concern was justified. The rub on the brisket was okay. Nothing stood out as interesting or attention catching. The meat of the brisket was dry and flavorless. The ribs were okay. The sauce wasn’t bad, but nothing to make me want to come back. The ribs were dry, too.The coleslaw was bland. The sauces were a solid “fine.” Nothing greater than you’d find in the grocery store.I’ll wait until I head back to Texas to grab BBQ again. Ah well. I’m glad I gave it a shot.

We were suggested this place from a fraternity brother. The food was pretty good with the fried chicken having a taste of cinnamon and the hush puppies oddly were a cross between a hush puppy and corn bread in texture and flavor. I really enjoyed the brisket and usually like spicy but the regular barbecue sauce had a better flavor than the sweet spicy barbecue. Overall the service was very good especially for being busy and we topped it off with banana pudding.

Food was good. Service was okay. We came as a party of two and we had a tiny table that was more shoved in the corner, felt like it was a bench for waiting, not dining. Prime rib was exceptional.

I don't get to Sellwood area that often but last week I was stuck in traffic. I decided to visit Reverend's BBQ for Happy Hour. they have a sizable U-shaped bar that invites conversation. I ordered a Hazey IPA which had a nice hop flavor and 3 St. Louis smoked pork ribs. They were cooked well yet moist and full flavored. They didn't last long, so I ordered a "Smash burger" which is made with toast, hamburger, cheddar cheese and the surprise - bread & Butter pickles. They made the sandwich! So, I will return.

Great food, a bit on the expensive side for what you get. Appetizers were small, but good.
Had the pork shoulder, polenta, and seasoned fries. Everything was delicious and they had a nice beer list too.

Real BBQ is hard to find in Portland.Reverend's is real, authentic BBQ. Brisket and ribs were great. So were the smoked wings.
