This is a great place for some real Mexican street food. The last time we grabbed food to go, we got the birria (beef and goat), which are both delicious, and the pozole is also amazing. In addition to the soups, the menu offers a wide variety of tacos, burritos, nachos, and plates (the mole is wonderful). Sahuayo Taqueria is located in the J&Ts Market, so it is more of a "to-go" option than a sit-down type of experience. In the summer, there is outdoor seating.

So happy this gem is in my neighborhood. Everything on the menu is delicious. Servings are generous so bring an appetite. Had some chile rellenos left over and put a fried egg on that for breakfast. ❣️ ? That's my heart singing!

The food is 100% good. The birria is my favorite thing here. Don't go between 12 and 1, because everyone from the hospital is there, and you'll wait a half hour or more. The cook is the hardest working man you'll meet.

I don't come here as much as I should, but that is going to change. This place is great! Little Mexican spot inside a convenience store. What I really love about it is all the soups available. Most places have maybe one on the menu, but they have several, and my favorite. Albondigas (meatball, veggie $14.50). To-go is the usual operation here, but you can eat inside or out and have a drink (licensed) while you are there! Amazing! We also got a burrito and 2 tamales in our to-go ($9.75 and $3.50 each). I feel these prices are very good for homemade food. And it definitely is from the taste. Service is counter and friendly, and odd, but they don't ask for tips here when you check out, (at least the times I've been in) which I would be happy to do at card swipe, but it's a little refreshing to just pay menu price, as it's just a walk up kinda situation. Love love love, try this place out immediately.

only had their breakfast burrito, the one with bacon. it's huge and greasy and yummy. but it's not crazy delicious or anything like that. it's good and they are open before 10 so that's what puts them above the rest. a lot of these hipster carts and breakfast burrito joints don't open till like 10 or later! like what's the point of that. so it is a breath of fresh air to get breakfast at breakfast time (especially if hungover or just need that morning pick-me-up in SE and can't wait until 11). they have a whole bunch of other stuff here, that i should try before i can just keep this 3 star rating. their hamburger and chilaquiles look promising. need to try those next time.

Found this place recommended on Eater PDX. Did enough reading up to have an idea of what to expect, but my expectations were pleasantly exceeded. On this Saturday, they were offering Menudo, and having never tried it, jumped at the opportunity. It was amazing. I also noticed that I was not the only customer who ordered it. My partner had the chilaquiles, and they were equally as good. One thing I noticed was a steady stream of customers, many getting takeout, but it is clear they have a loyal following. I also appreciated the customer service. They were pleasant and kind. This is a solid place to go for a good meal and while the setting may throw you off, don't let it detract

I needed a machaca burrito this morning. Needed. Place wasn't open when I got there, I was not happy, but ultimately waited a solid 45 minutes for a machaca burrito because it's that good, and good machaca isn't easy to find. It's a great taqueria. Highly recommended, even though I can only speak to one menu item.

Quick service. The best breakfast burritos around this are. Piping hot, yummy salsa, huge, and flavorful. Defiantly crave this weekly.

The food is AMAZING... way beyond but I would expect from a convenience store and restaurant all in one (this is not a convenience store with a hot dog roller, there's a full-fledged restaurant in there.)
