“Great pupusas! I know they come in different sizes and shapes but the ones I had were the size and shape I make when I do them at home. They were delicious and the curtido was perfect. Nice little food truck and nice folks running it. Can't remember what I paid but it was reasonable for two nice sized pupusas. Next time I'm in Portland I'll stop by there again for sure.“
“Salvi was the best experience I’ve had at a restaurant since getting to Portland. Their pupusas are better than my Tios and everyone is so wonderfully warm and inviting. Be sure to come by on a Wednesday for $5 pints AND pupusas!!! I did the 3 pupusas for 13 so I could try 6 different ones with my partner and every single one was amazing.“
“Best papusas in Portland bar none. Love their Salvadorian sweet plantain empanadas. And Ed is a hoot.Dietary restrictions: Friends with celiacs have never had a problem with gluten contamination at this cart. A couple of their items do have gluten, including their mild (medium?) hot sauce.“
“Woah. This was good. It was my first time eating Salvadorian food. Here's some things I wish I had known going in:1: Most things are served on a pupusa, a custom filling fried flatbread, you need to pick a flavor of pupusa to put the rest of your meal on, it's a separate menu.2: Pick your topping first then chose a pupusa that would go good with what you picked.3: Put some of the picked veggies on your food before you devour the entire thing. We will be back to eat this again.“
“This is hands down one of the BEST food carts in Portland!!! ? (and I have been to many.)Not is the food INCREDIBLE, but the woman who owns the food truck is one of the sweetest and hard working people you could ever meet. She truly puts so much love into the food she makes, and you can taste it in every bite!!! ?Wow. The level of authenticity and the service I would give 10 stars if I could. I seriously love this place and would eat here more if I could!! ?PS: COME SUPPORT THIS WOMAN AND HER FOOD TRUCK WHILE YOU STILL CAN. ???Times are rough and she said they might be closing soon. So, you better get in while you still can. ??Thank you LA puerta for bringing real Salvadorian food to PDX!!**************************PS #2: DO NOT COME HERE EXPECTING FAST FOOD. (if you want super fast service go to mc donalds). PLEASE KNOW THAT SHE IS HAND MAKING EACH ORDER AND YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT FOR YOUR MEAL!! BUT, IT IS TOTALLY WORTH IT. ??“
“Super delicious food and super friendly staff. I have been wanting to try this cart for a while and finally stopped on my way back from the airport. The pork and cheese pupusa was recommended when I asked what their favorite was and it did not disappoint. Super cheesy, great griddled crust, and the pork and sauces were so flavorful.I also was gifted a fruit cup of sorts (kind of like an agua Fresca) and it was delicious and refreshing—honestly it was better than any actual agua Fresca I’ve had in PDX…Vegetarian options: Lots of different veggie options for pupusas (squash, beans, peppers, cheese) and other items.“
