Unfortunately, did not have the best time experience here. The sushi rolls were not fresh and the sushi rice was not great. We also had the shots ramen which was bland. Asked for chili oil and it was met with a glare. When we received it, it was slammed on the table. The chili oil did help flavor the ramen broth a bit at least. I highly doubt I'll be back here.

It’s one of my favorite sushi places. I love the food. It’s a small hole in the wall vibe but worth it. Do check it out and try the teriyaki salmon and jalapeño bombs. Killer!!

Truly a gem! As a college student near Woodstock, I've walked by this spot so many times but never bothered to check it out as I already had some go-to sushi spots. However, after a sushi craving one day I decided to try it out. I ordered the sashimi super deluxe and nigiri deluxe combinations to-go and they were both delicious. The fish was fresh, cuts were big, and the variety was amazing. So, I decided to stop by the restaurant fairly recently. I came with my boyfriend for lunch and got their tempura udon, chicken karaage, and a variety of nigiri. The tempura udon and karaage portions were huge. The udon was light, sweet, and delicious, and the tempura was crispy and fried perfectly. The karaage was also a generous portion, with amazing sauce, and a small salad. And, the nigiri was once again amazing. So sad I didn't find this spot sooner as it's so delicious. And, the service is always super sweet, fast, and I love supporting these people.

We went here for the first time last week. We are moving into the Woodstock neighborhood and we knew we'd have to find a new sushi spot. Shoko pleasantly surprised us with the quality of the food, wide menu selection, and extremely friendly staff. I'm sure we will become regulars!

I've been going to Shoko for years. Honestly I think they have the best ramen in town, bar none.

Great sushi. Huge portions and fresh fish. Dishes are quite a bit pricier than the average. A chirashi bowl was $40+ and bento was $25+ Not the most friendly price-wise for college students, but other than that, a decent but steep neighborhood spot.

One of my all time favorite sushi places in SE Portland! So fresh and their plate presentation is on point. The service is beyond great. The prices pretty good, not too expensive.Definitely a quality sushi spot and highly recommended.

In for dinner on a rainy night, sushi seems like a good idea. Shoko is in our 'hood so we came in. Not busy (6-ish), we were seated immediately. After wandering through the menu, we decided on the vegie tempura and the Deluxe Nigiri Combination. Also a draft beer and iced oolong tea. Interesting that we were only served one bowl of miso soup - maybe we should have asked if there would be one for each of us but the menu didn't say "bowls" so caveat emptor. Tempura came quickly, was decent, dipping sauce was ok. Our sushi board came shortly after. Asked waitperson about which fish was which but she couldn't identify all of the varieties. Also, checked on whether chef used wasabi to bond fish to rice - they don't. BTW - the oolong tea? Pass. Nothing special for a $3.00 drink. All in all, a decent but not really noteworthy dinner. We'll come back because we like to patronize our local restaurants but this isn't at the top of the list.

Lunched here with some long lost college buddies. We had a really good time. The food was delicious. I am obsessed with the salmon and scallop roll. They didn't oversauce anything. The sashimi tasted just right. Service was great. I also like how they reuse the menus and clean them after every guest. Very smart.

Best sushi I've had in Portland! The portion sizes are really reasonable for the price and their miso soup is incredible too.I'll be back very soon.
