Service is absolutely terrible. Consistently takes 30+ minutes for a bagel sandwich. I continue to come back since it is in a convenient location for me but this last time was the final straw. Called in an order for two bagel sandwiches and a side hash brown which took 45 minutes. I got there after 25 mins the bagels still weren’t ready but was told all they had to do was make the hash brown . Waited 20 more minutes and finally got the bagels but they forgot the hash brown entirely. When I mentioned it to staff I have been waiting 45 minutes and still don’t have the hash brown the girl gave me an attitude and then threw a floppy soggy hash brown on the counter toward me. For the first time in my life I got a hash brown that looked absolutely disgusting. The girls attitude was the final straw, will not be coming back.

Love my Saturday routine coming here with friends or when my family is in town—a great and affordable breakfast place for a bagel sandwich and coffee. I’m not into the whole weekend brunch thing with mimosas (ew) and this is just the perfect solution when you still wanna see your friends in a chill atmosphere and it’s cheap. I always leave full. Recommend.

So I ordered a delivery close to closing. The driver told me they went in and the company would not fulfill it because they were only open for 5 more mins. I called to confirm the next day and after speaking with someone there I will never order from them again. Regardless of what time it is - terrible customer service !

I am really so disappointed to write this. I loved Spielmans, ordered at least once a week and the quality has just gone downhill. It’s been multile incorrect orders, which I can deal with. Accidents happen especially if it’s busy. Then it became rude staff members- I get that sometimes people can have an off day and figured maybe it would be better next time.I can tolerate a lot for good food, but today it was terrible.I received an item that should never have left the kitchen. I ordered The Fancy, paid extra for bacon (this was my favorite). What I got was a bagel sandwich with bacon so burnt it shouldn’t have been served. Like I could smell it through the bag.This was literally charcoal (see pics). This should have been tossed and remade. I’m just shocked someone actually packaged that and sold it.It’s just really sad, I loved this place and recommended it often; but it seems like they just don’t care anymore.

Bagels ok, my only complaint is they sometimes are crunchy - overbaked maybe? But when they aren't crunchy, they're pretty good.
Came in place had no vibe at all. Super cold. Staff saw me come in didn’t engage they was just looking at each other had me waiting at the counter for like five minutes. Finally someone took my order but by than I didn’t wanna try the bagle which is what i was looking forward to. Coffee was okay could be a lot better….

Came here Monday morning, no one was in line and the shop was mainly empty, stood in front of the register for 10 minutes without even so much of hello or acknowledgement. Heard the prep cook say “stop taking orders” to the cashier. Still no acknowledgement that I was there. 10 minutes later the line was out the door. I decided to leave since this took up most of my work break! Went down the street to Henry bagels and they immediately took my order and got my coffee and bagel in less than 5 minutes!Management needs to take a look at their customer service. Seems like this is a common issue at this location. And waiting 30 minutes for a plain bagel with schmear is absurd.

I've been coming here for five years. Noticeable decline in the last year or so in quality and customer service - somebody is using way too much chevre/schmear. Multiple times I've gotten drip coffee and when I asked the employee for more when the dispenser is empty, they say they'll make more soon...and it doesn't happen before I finish eating and leave. You should also have milk & alternatives available instead of having to ask an employee each time. Could probably use more people working at one time to ensure they actually have coffee at this bagel and coffee shop.

Total and complete booty cheeks. Upon entering I was not greeted by any staff. No "good morning, how are you, welcome in" nothing. Standing at the front counter for what felt like 10 minutes. (honestly was around 3 to 4.) are one staff member slowly finished up the order she was working on, then proceeded to clean her station and put away the other products before them, making her way to the counter and asking how I am. Some might say I'm over reacting, but I think it is simple, proper business practice to greet the customer as they enter and make a swift and tedious effort to finish what you're working on and then proceed helping the customer. That is not what I felt this morning. Staff could definitely use retraining on customer service, and proper greeting practice. A simple coffee and bagel was what I was looking for, but only received a bad taste in my mouth and another store to stay away from. Did not order due to the service I was given. Of all the bagel shops in Portland. I would say check out your other options before going here. There is plenty and much kinder staff at other locations.
