Super yummy vegan Indian food. We tried the Bombay Delux Toast and the noodles, both were delicious. Cocktails were tasty as well. Great price point. Funky interior.

I have a bell pepper food allergen so I left a note when ordering the Indo-Chinese Noodles online to sub bell peppers if possible. What I got was appalling, "Bell Pepper Noodles," the cook add extra bell peppers. Plus the noodles are different now, can't believe I paid $17 for "Bell Pepper Noodles." Couldn't eat anything but soy curls and under cook, clumpy, wide noodles, come on the Sudra.Order #33 April 9Gosh, knew Sudra is hipster and is a product of gentrification, while the atmosphere and food have as always be great. Whatever happened after the moved changed the Sudra and not seemingly for the better, like all the money went into the building and decor, they forgot to pay actual line cooks. Foods so inconsistent now. Be thinking twice for a while

It wasn't very busy, and the service was fine. The food was okay. We split a thali with the lentil kofta. Overall, it was pretty bland for Indian.

Great experience, awesome staff and good food, a little different from the traditional Indian food. Would love to go for weekend brunch when possible.

The ambience was good and the restaurant was quiet and nice. Their service was quick, and the staff are nice and engaging. We went as a group and each of us got a Lentil Kofta Large Plate and shared a Broccoli and Cauliflower fry. One distinct taste that prevailed was sourness in almost all the dishes. The Lentil Kofta was okay, nothing too special about it.Although I visited the restaurant prepared to experiment, the experience was totally a mixed signal one.Vegetarian options: The menu is almost all vegan (Yogurt is the only exception.

Shout out for being open on thanksgiving! Without y’all I would have been eating burritos from Plaid pantry.

Food deeply underwhelming and overpriced. Not terrible, but the kind of meal that you finish and you’re like, I should’ve just gone home to eat.(Service was fine and the space is nice)

Original dishes, fast service, nice ambient, quiet restaurant. The best dish was the chick’n tikka masala. I really liked the sauce on the samosas, but they were not traditional samosas. A lot of the dishes were creative and required an open mind. The lentil kofta was essentially lentil falafel with veggies. The naan was not necessary, since the dishes had rice and it was really more like pita bread with seeds. Which is a shame, as you never see vegan naan anywhere. The dessert was okay. The texture was a bit off to us, but the blueberry compote was nice and very generous on the blueberries.Overall, the dinner was okay. If I did it again, I wouldn’t come in with high expectations my first time and I’d be open to the dishes being different than what they traditionally are. The food is good and original, the service is fast, the prices are reasonable, and the restaurant is nice and quiet for a dinner.

Immediately the waitress was rude. Blonde hair with a black bow. I noticed she was like that to everyone there. She was very condescending when I asked any questions about the menu or the outside seating. It's unfortunate because the food is pretty decent and I haven't had a bad experience there until today. Probably won't go back because of the service. I'm honestly surprised I gave a tip at all.

This review is based on my second visit to Sudra. I went with a group of people so we ordered some small plates including the Tandoori Brussel Sprouts and Samosas. I was underwhelmed during my first visit so I decided to go with the tried and true Spinach Dahl bowl. Everything was just okay, nothing fantastic. Sudra just reopened after a short closure to repair damage from the January snow storm and I just felt like they were understaffed.

TLDR; great food, excellent service and nostalgic posters on the walls inside.I visited this place after learning that this was one of the highest rated restaurants in all of Portland, and also a fully vegan Indian restaurant. These restaurants, in my opinion, are rare because certain Indian entrees and some of the best sweet treats to exist in all of reality are traditionally made with copious amounts of ghee (clarified butter) and heavy cream, amongst other dairy & meat items. For a restaurant to exist which makes traditional Indian delicacies with cruelty-free substitutes, is a wonderful thing to discover as a vegan Indian person. And this restaurant truly delivered. I personally ordered the soy curls Indo-Chinese stir fried noodles, which was spiced differently than what I expected, but was delicious nonetheless.Along with that, I also ended up consuming some other items like the samosa chaat, and jackfruit vindaloo, which were impeccable!Vegetarian options: The menu is actually completely vegan!
