When I tried to call them (6x times) to tell them what happened and to ask for a refund, the phone rang and no one answered.For overpriced, mid flavors, AND eggshell in my food I will not be returning.

Everytime I make my way into Portland, a visit to Waffle Window is a must. I have tried pretty much everything they have to offer by now, and I must say, every time I was blown away. Best waffles in Portland!

Amazing waffles they are absolutely delicious but I cannot get over the fact that they charge for maple syrup(it’s $1.50) for the smallest little travel package of syrup . It’s a waffle place, how are you going to treat maple syrup as if it’s extra ? I ordered two waffles for my self and a friend and they only gave us one maple syrup, said any more would be extra . Take note they told me this after I had finished paying for the waffles so they wanted a whole other transaction. It’s like a hot wings place charging for hot sauce or a cafe charging extra for sugar, a sushi place charging for soy sauce. It makes absolutely no sense. That being said the food was very tasty and was by far one of the best waffles I’ve had, but if I’m paying $20 per waffle I think it should come with more than a table spoon of syrup .Note one year later - they still charge extra for syrup and they’ve raised the prices for a waffle for $4.45. If you order a half waffle they give you one pack of syrup if you order a whole waffle they give you the same pack of maple syrup. If you’re gonna be extremely stingy over maple syrup at least stay consistent with one pack per half waffle .

The ingredients tasty pretty fresh and of good quality. I got the rise and shine waffle with gravy. It was yummy. The waffle was soft and buttery. The gravy was creamy. I also got a side of potatoes. They were over-seasoned. I got the green tea mint lemonade. It wasn’t sweet or tart. Just had a weird herby flavor. The size is pretty small for a medium.The restaurant is clean and organized. Big windows to look out. The staff were nice and quick.

The food was okay, the only thing that made me leave this rating was because when I was about to find a table, I see little flys wondering around, the only good thing was the grilled potatoes.. and the waffle I had was like dark something chocolate I think? And idk the smell of the chocolate felt off and with the flies flying around made me lose my appetite.

Update: I received a prompt genuine and sincere response from the owner and I am confident the issue we experienced will no longer be a concern for anyone. My birthday is next week and we plan to continue our tradition Today is my daughter’s 18th birthday. We have gone to the waffle window the past few years as a tradition and always had great service with delicious food. Today couldn’t be more opposite. My daughter showed ID and the lady said she needed to go on their website join their club and all this extra stuff then they would send an email with a code to validate so she could get her birthday waffle…. but they never sent an email it just put her on their contact list… apparently the workers have zero ability to do what is right anymore. After waiting in line and going through all these insane hoops we sure as heck weren’t going to just hop in the car and drive 30 mins back home.. so we had to pay for it.. needless to say I am pretty disappointed and for sure will NOT be visiting again.

I've eaten here as a patron, picked up take out, and delivered their food via Uber and every way I've ever interacted with them has been awful. Staff is uncooperative, unhelpful, and downright rude. Especially the owner. His disrespectful disposition and awful customer service reverberates through the entire business and how he has his staff treat the public. The food was over seasoned, over cooked, and honestly gross. Small portion sizes, the works. I couldn't recommend a place less. Try Fried Egg I'm in Love. You won't have any of these problems.

The service went from being good to being terrible, the young people who are in front serve as if they don't like the work, they are super slow, they make faces of displeasure at the customers and it is worse with the people who deliver, they ignore them, they They speak with a derogatory tone, they start talking among themselves, ignoring whether there are clients or not, unfortunately the only two people who could be saved from the bad comments are included, the bad service includes the older man who serves who went from being friendly to an arrogant man just like everyone who works here.
