Overcooked burned, super oily batter on fish. Some shrimp were burned too much to eat. Neither one of us finished our fish, it was too oily and burned we both immediately got sick and threw away the food. What an overpriced waste.

Stopped in town to meet a friend and grab lunch. Arrived around 11am when most of the food trucks were just getting started. I opted to get the clam chowder from Baja Fish. There were two young women working, they both glanced at me standing at the window and neither acknowledged me. No hello, be right with you or even a smile. After waiting about 30+ seconds of being ignored, one of the women (no glasses) came to the window and just looked at me. Isn't this where they would ask, 'How can I help you?'. I just started speaking and told her I'd like the clam chowder. She rang it up, told me the cost and just stood there. I assumed she wanted payment so I handed her my card, she ran it, and gave me my receipt and a buzzer. She said nothing. When I did get my soup it was runny, watery even, and didn't have much flavor. I did take few bites of the bread bowl and it was good.My friend and I discussed the interaction and they agreed that the worker was really rude, almost like they were angry. I didn't enjoy my lunch because all I could think of was what the worker may have done to my food. I ate very little and threw most of it away.

I'm so disappointed that the previous owner had to sell. He had a quality product and assured me he would have new owners continue to deliver the same recipe and taste. It isn't. I have come twice thinking the 1st time they might be still working out the kinks, but today the breading was soggy (grease), and the coleslaw (which is extra now) was just chopped up cabbage with WAY TO MUCH mayo and a sugar. I thought I had found my fish and chips place, but I am back on the hunt.

BEST FISH AND CHIPS IVE EVER HADEdit: my husband and I used to come support this place pretty often but when we went yesterday, the fish and everything else on our plate was overcooked and unseasoned and the breading wasn't the same quality it used to be. When we came here in the past it was always cooked to perfection. Don't think we'll come here again after this experience.

SO GOOD!!!! I got the captain’s platter and I got to taste a bit of everything. Everything was fresh, crunchy, and I can tell the oil was clean due to the light color. The girl was super nice and accommodating! Will be back!!

Delicious, fresh fish with large portions! House tartar sauce is SO good. Coleslaw that came with our order was really good as well. Owner is super nice and accommodating. Definitely recommend and will be back!

Hard to rate since I drove 1 hour to have gluten free breaded fish but their fryer was down. At least waiter told me but still bummed.Had Thai instead which was good.
We got our Fish \u0026 Chips to go yesterday. We were very pleasantly surprised when we got home and the portion of fish was huge and still very hot. It was so good. The Baja sauce was excellent, I wish there were more because I used it on both the fish \u0026 chips. The coleslaw was great. My husband normally has a complaint about something in a meal. Not one complaint. I can’t wait to have it again.

We got our Fish & Chips to go yesterday. We were very pleasantly surprised when we got home and the portion of fish was huge and still very hot. It was so good. The Baja sauce was excellent, I wish there were more because I used it on both the fish & chips. The coleslaw was great. My husband normally has a complaint about something in a meal. Not one complaint. I can’t wait to have it again.

We were on the hunt for fish and chips and called this eatery. The recorded phone message indicated they were open until 8pm. We drove ten miles to The Yard in Salem only to find a closed business. BUT....the hours posted on the outside, again, indicated 8pm closing. Only it was 5:30 when we arrived. Other Yard businesses nearby indicated that Baja hours are unpredictable. Going a few more miles farther to Battered Fish and Chips is worth your while. Here's a heads up Baja. If you are going to be closed, make sure your phone message and internet post reflects that. And make sure your HOURS OF OPERATION sign reflect correct hours.
