Took them over a year to send my cert to me, in that time I successfully took the Nakatomi plaza back from Hans, fought a mathematical wizard who took over the power grid, and caught a legendary cuban general who was trying to escape from custody. Oh also I was assaulted several times on the job and they punished *me* for it. DPSST is run by crooks and honestly it's perfect for you if you're a part of meal-team six

The Best in Oregon

The hours listed are 8am-5pm. You will waste your time if you go anytime other than 11am-1pm. If you try to get information from the listed website, 404-page not found. Food is not gourmet, but the salad bar is decent and they will make a sandwich or burger for you too. Cafeteria staff was friendly and helpful. The place was clean and bright. Can't beat the price and our public taxes subsidize this for cops. Go get it.

DPSST IS HORRIBLE!!! This is the worst government agency out there. They constantly lose paperwork that is sent in, they dont discipline people that violate their rules. They only go after businesses. The rules that they have are bogus. They are there to make sure people are certified to work security but NOW their new rules require getting into YOUR CONTRACTS WITH YOUR CLIENTS!!!! DPSST is over stepping what they are supposed to be here for and going into more work for them when they cant do their CURRENT jobs now down there in Salem! DPSST IS A JOKE!!!!!!!

A very somber and beautiful memorial to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you HEROES ?

A lot of regulations, but no enforcement. Security companies run rampant with retaliation and discrimination, and they do nothing but worry about if you’re certified to work security. I called them a lot while ago, to report then G4S, the lady who answered the phone told me, "Normally security companies have their own people for that". My response, that's the program. They don’t do anything here in this building.

I just finished a week long instructor development course for Use Of Force. I would highly recommend this course to anyone in law enforcement who's looking to be an instructor for Use Of Force or related curriculum (Taser, Consim, Firearms, etc.)From my personal perspective as an instructor, Instructor Willadson did a great job creating a relaxed classroom environment. He displayed humor and a willingness to let the class get somewhat off topic as long as the information being discussed was pertinent and valuable. He could also easily bring the class back on topic if the discussion went too far off into the weeds. Not once did he seem uptight or frazzled. I was impressed by this because accomplishing that is not always as easy as it looks. Instructor Willadson seemed like a very genuine down to earth person, rather than a stereotypical robotic teacher. The class material itself was a fantastic balance of video material, handouts, questions and answers. It kept my attention and it was very engaging. Additionally, I have a slightly different discipline in the field. I work in a transport unit and I don't deal with the issues in quite the same way a patrol or traffic officer would. All of the instructors were very thoughtful about this and they made accommodations (to the best of their ability) to make the material fit my line of work. It might be no big deal for them, but it felt above and beyond to me. Instructor Noregon (I hope I'm spelling his name correctly) assisted Instructor Willadson. He was also very thoughtful and informative. One thing I liked about both instructors was their no-nonsense approach. They were kind and professional, yet when I made mistakes in the scenario part of training, they told me directly and we discussed it professionally without them trying to placate me in any way.I've had several opportunities to attend training at DPSST and each learning experience has been great and perhaps progressively better. All DPSST Staff, to include those working at the front desk and the cafeteria were kind and professional at every interaction. (Side note: I couldn't get much of a smile out of the woman who folded the sandwich wraps, but she was still polite and it was fun to try.) ?In closing, this agency gets an A+ from me.
