The first time we stopped by they had just sold old. After looking at the pictures and reviews online I couldnt wait to go back and try it. After finally being able to try it, I wish I could give it more stars. Food was amazing. Love how the fries are fried in tallow. Ordered online but service was great! Can't wait to go back.

We LOVE Runaway Kitchen. We have eaten here at least ten times and it’s always delicious. The burgers are always seasoned perfectly and the fries are out of this world. The runaway sauce is a MUST. Jessy and her husband are very kind and always have a smile on their face. You can tell they care about their customers. We don’t get burgers anywhere else! We have had Runaway multiple times in Stayton but this was our first time at their new location (and truck!) in Salem, located right beside Fussy Duck off Commercial.This is one of those reviews where I'm not going to go on a long winded rant about how good these burgers are. You don't need to read this. You need to go freaking try their smash burgers. They are, without a doubt, the best smash burger we've ever had, period. You will not find a better burger, I promise you.And after you get their smash burger, get their fries which are equally criminally good, and their shakes are just fire, liquid fire.Ten star food and experience here.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was at a wedding that had these folks, and the food was next level. I had a smash burger and BLT…and both were super tasty!The staff were also super nice. Kind of made the event that much greater!
Had runaway kitchen for a wedding rehearsal dinner and it was amazing. The smash burgers were great and the staff were super friendly and nice. I would recommend them for any event or just for a bite !

Oh my goodness Runaway Kitchen's burgers are good! They're my favorite burgers in Salem, and they're a hit with my entire family. And their milkshakes! Mmm!! Their root beer milkshake is absolutely fabulous! The service is excellent with really nice staff and the wait times for the food are a touch long when they get busy but honestly it's exactly what you'd expect from made-to-order dishes and it's totally worth the wait. You can always order ahead on their website!The food truck is parked in the Fussy Duck parking lot, so it does get kind of hot in the summer, but the picnic benches nearly all have umbrellas or are under tree cover so it's really quite pleasant to be there and enjoy the weather. One thing to be aware of though is their schedule, they're only open on Thursdays and Fridays for lunch and dinner with a break between. To my family, only having the option to go there a couple of times a week makes it really special though so we don't mind at all.

Dude, the crunchyness of the burgers... like nothing I've had before. Absolutely delicious. The fries too... I ate one and knew I will be back for more.

Thought it was pretty good. The beef patties looked thicker in the photos than the actual burger. Probably could have skipped the fries but that is the case for most restaurants. Really did not notice much difference between this burger and Five Guys. My expectation was for a thicker burger. I would go back but I was expecting my socks to be knocked off. Still giving 5 STARS because it is not easy getting a restaurant off the ground. Good luck.
