Our second time in the last few weeks to visit W. Wallace. We like the vibe and intimate atmosphere of this local pub. Service is always great and they have an awesome drink menu. The chef turns out some very tasty meals as well. Last time I had the street tacos along with chips and salsa (both excellent) this visit we went with the Rodeo Burger. This is a nice take on your standard burger, very tasty and filling. My wife also had one of the current specialty drinks which she really enjoyed. I ordered a Moscow Mule, and an Espresso Martini, both were well prepared. All in all a very good experience.

From the moment we walked in the waitress was innatentive and short with us. She wouldn't even give us menus and the table was forced to share a single drink and a single food menu. The waitress took one drink order and never checked on us and we had to go up to the bar multiple times just to ask for someone to take our order. Upon bringing the drinks the waitress also spilled 2 of them. We had several drinks that never arrived as well. Once the food came out we werent even given silverware or napkins. The waitress seemed like we were bothering her all night. The bar tender was the lone bright spot of the place she was kind and welcoming unlike every other aspect of this place.

Went in this last Friday for dinner and waited 2 hours for my food. We had a group a 7. I love this place drinks are always on point and the atmosphere is great. I have been a waitress so I understand the difficulties when understaffed. But as a former waitress the waitress should inform customers hey its a busy night and we are understaffed so it could be about ( however long it could possibly take) to get your food, this way customers can decide if they choose to stay or go. One of our party had to go to the bar to order for half of our group. I waited 30 more minutes before heading to the bar to ask if someone can go take our order which the waitress rolled her eyes at me, I did not see but my group did. Said waitress proceeds to finally get to our table and doesn't say anything just looks at us with her pen and pad waiting for our order. Very rude btw. I ordered 2 drinks while there ,1 of them I didn't even get. To top it off a pre calculated gratuity was added to our bill. All I can say is I hope that gratuity went to the bartender and the cook because waitress gets a negative 10 from me.

The drinks were great!! Although, I would say the service wasn’t what I would hope. My friend and I ordered drinks and waited to order food for about 20 min and tried to get our servers attention multiple times. It just felt like she was ignoring us but paid attention to others. We never got menus and looked up the menu on the website and when I tried to order a chicken club she just stopped me and only told me they had fried chicken and then finally offered to get us a menu. This was my second time coming to this place and I spoke highly of it to my friend which is why we went together but we ended up having to close our tab because of her service and attitude towards us.

The older woman waiting tables started the night by taking orders for everybody at the table and skipping over someone, then spilling a drink on one of our jackets. She then ignored our table the rest of the night. Then cutting the checks was impossible for her, and everyone got overcharged. Definitely not recommended.

The fish tacos are amazing. We have been there a few times and have always had good food and drink. The inside has it's original dark paneling and floors. It also has the original brick wall with original pressed tin ceilings, like many of the other buildings in old down town Salem. Unfortunately, they are usually understaffed. Hopefully, that will be remedied.

Waitress was rude and would not even look at me, let alone acknowledge me. She was more worried about decorating for the New Year's. The food had no flavor and was nothing special. You couldn't get me to go back!

Sat down, waited 10 minutes to even be asked about what cocktails we wanted. They were watered down and tasted like syrup. 30 minutes in... no menu. No water. The waitress hung out at the bar and talked to a couple the entire half hour we waited. Never going back. 0/5.
Stopped in here the other night with a group of gals and we had a great time. Bartender was super friendly and made best espresso martini I had tasted in years. We had the pork nachos and they were so good, I ate most of them myself. I am definitely heading back with my husband, great spot for drinks and food.

Our visit started off disappointing when they have a focaccia flatbread on the menu , and then told they don't offer that anymore- (so take it off the menu) , then I ordered a Harvest Toddy off their cocktail menu, and then was told they cannot make that because they do not have any hot water. Happy hour lasted until 6 PM. We swapped out and ordered at 5:50 PM. I ordered their fish tacos which I thought I ordered off the happy hour menu. I was charged full price and then when I asked about the happy hour price, the manager had to go verify with the server at what time they put our order in the computer. the manager came back and said it was put in at 6:04 PM, so that's why I didn't get the happy hour price, she said to me in a condescending tone here's a couple dollars back since I already closed your closed bill out. I also ordered a refill of chips and salsa to go and (included in her condescending tone) she said they don't normally do that. So if you're wanting to order food to go just know they don't normally do that And will make you feel like they're doing you a favor by putting your food in a box. Good chips and salsa tho.
