Love their salted Carmel macchiatos! Their outdoor seating on their front porch was wonderful...enjoyed our coffee while we sat and people watch.

Local coffee shop with both indoors and outdoor seating. Great place to enjoy and relax on a sunny day.

Symposium undeniably makes great coffee. I prefer the vibe of the Tigard location, as the customers here have a certain vibe that comes off as judgmental and closed off to people that aren't of their same kind, but that's a problem that comes with the town rather than the shop itself. The employees themselves seemed friendly and helpful. They have great lattes here and I would highly recommend their special pumpkin chocolate chip bread as a treat.

Symposium Coffee house is a real plus for the community. It's in the old downtown area of Sherwood, with indoor & outdoor seating. The owners are such kind people, as well as their staff, you always feel welcomed. The coffee they serve is a 10, and they have some yummy pastries too!

Very pretentious and snobby person at the register. Coffee is average but super expensive. My drink, 20 oz Almond milk mocha, if I could order it, would cost $9.25 here. At my favorite coffee cart, Cravings PDX it costs $5.75. They don't even do drinks bigger than 16oz here. My Mocha doesn't even taste like chocolate. I wanted to move to Sherwood but I'm reconsidering since there is not a good cafe.

Friendly service. Fantastic coffee. Cool space. It's one of the best coffee spots in the area. Definitely recommend.

Super cozy inside and I LOVE that they have pumpkin bread year round :) Their caramel macchiato was tasty and the girls working there were welcoming and nice.

Bizarre torture porn art on the walls. When I'm putting cream in my coffee, I don't wanna read about bronze age carpenters having nails driven through their limbs. Service was good, coffee was ok, wall of booze behind register doesn't really match coffee shop. Feels like they can't decide what they are. 2 stars for service and outdoor seating.

About a week ago, I came into Symposium coffee and was making conversation with the workers. (Disclaimer: I do talk to them when I come in which is often and I admit that. How this was handled though was very unprofessional.) The manager Amanda came up to me and said in an angry tone "You do know you've been here for twenty minutes right?" and proceeded to saying things (in a demeaning tone) like "I don't mean to be a bitch but-you are distracting my workers." and saying "I don't know if you've sensed my frustration." when she was at the other end of the room. I pay for coffee and a scone every time I come in and am a customer. It was not okay to talk to me like that, as a customer, in such a rude tone. I understand the core of what she was saying and it's okay to be frustrated, but it was handled very unprofessionally and was really hurtful (as I do come in often). Especially that no one had told me anything beforehand and this was completely out of the blue to hear from my end. At the end of the day, businesses continue to progress because of clients and customers, retaining a good customer is key for your business, and the situation could have been avoided by handling employee communications better. Clients should not have been involved or talked to that way. Good clients & regulars should be retained. The core of what she was saying was totally understandable. I have not heard from anyone that I was being too distracting until Amanda came up to me so I did feel a bit shocked. Case and point though, how Amanda handled that was completely inappropriate and demeaning. Especially to a paying customer. I am definitely not coming back.

A super cute neighborhood cafe in an old house in the old town part of Sherwood. They converted it so that the first floor is the cafe, with a few small tables and a fireplace, a couple more tables in a separate room with the restroom, and up the stairs there are more tables and big comfy chairs. Plus some patio seating outside for when the weather is nicer.Drinks are what I would expect coming from CA - $5 lattes, +$1 for alt milks, flavors etc. I had a latte and the espresso was strong. They had some baked goods (e.g., scones and sliced loaf breads). And also make sandwiches on baguette that come with a bag of chips. I had the marionberry scone which looked really promising but was quite dry... so lesson learned. They get 5 stars because the staff is so lovely and exactly what you would want in a neighborhood cafe. They know their regulars, they are super friendly, want to make you feel at home, and will chit chat as they work. I will definitely come back when I am near there next month!

I will literally have dreams about their avocado toast omgosh so delicious! I also got a simple iced almond milk latte with vanilla and was again pleasantly surprised with how good it was! The vanilla syrup is not bitter tasting like some other coffee shops I've been to. Just perfection, seriously. Staff was also very friendly! And they got really busy right after we ordered!
