Nice atmosphere, small cozy feel, id have a drink there with a friend if i didnt want any fuss or fancyness with zero wait time. I will not in order any sandwiches. Their famous loose meat was odd tasting yet bland at the same time. Minimal portion of meat or maybe the bread was over sized. Sharing a Pickle Plate would allow you to wait until you had a tasty meal elsewhere.

First time ever having a loose meat sandwich and it was phenomenal. The tomato soup was great too and of course had to wash it all down with an ice cold High Life.

We came in chilled from a rainy cold PNW day and warmed up with the most delightful sandwiches we had ever eaten. The atmosphere is warm, cozy and inviting. Highly recommend the cherry limeade. Our waitress made sure to invite us back for Monday night Bingo.Kid-friendliness: Our 11 year old was enchanted with the many framed pictures on the wall and especially liked the mister goose portrait that hangs over the fireplace. This is a family friendly establishment, but it does have a full bar. We enjoyed a "Roy Rogers" (cherry coke) and a Cherry Limeade.Wheelchair accessibility: There's handicap accessible parking and a wooden ramp up to the door.

Steamed sandwiches and loaded tots are great. Haven't seen it busy, always been the only people besides maybe a person at the bar. Love the atmosphere

I'll be back. The steamed sandwich was different. I'll have to try a couple others before I can say I like or dislike. The bartender was polite but not attentive. As we were the only ones there I may have expected too much. The space is great.

A simple menu with good prices, old school ambiance where you have an old school TV sitting high up watching reruns of kid shows. The service was great and quick. Just made you feel like home. The loose goose sandwich was good. Admire the goose painting on the wall by the owner while you're there.

Good food & fun atmosphere. Only steamed sandwiches in the Portland metro area, and the complimentary pickle plate really lets you add as much extra flavor as you'd like. Try the loose goose, it's worth the upcharge.

While my service and the atmosphere were great, I was very disappointed by the food. Not trying to bash a small business- but I feel like reviews should be honest. The flavoring of the sandwich was odd. I didn’t finish it as it was just kind of off. Not sure if it was the seasoning or the meat, but it honestly was not good. I was surprised by all of the great reviews because that’s what made us go there originally. Again, the staff were great and the atmosphere was cool, but I was highly disappointed by the food. Maybe they were just having an off day.

First off, I’d like to speak to Mister Goose himself. Don’t let these other reviews fool you. I asked if they would recommend the mushroom sandwich, they said everyone likes the sandwich. I find this hard to believe. The mushrooms look diseased, were thick and slimy and the marinade was not good. The mac salad was flavorless, just noodles and mayo. The spread on the sandwiches was odd. The overall menu was also very limited. My party and I didn’t finish our meals and left. The staff was nice, and the place itself was cute. The water was ice cold and refreshing. Five stars for the water.

Cute sandwich spot in Saint Helens with plenty of parking. The cherry limeade drink was very good, and I left with a full stomach.

Over the last week, I’ve had about a dozen different restaurants in Seattle and Oregon. This is the best food I’ve had this whole trip. I got the Loose Goose, and while it is not at all like a real Iowa Maid-Rite sandwich, it is still very good. The tots were also perfectly cooked and not too greasy. Additionally, the pickle plate is a nice bonus. I will be back for one last sandwich before my trip is over.Kid-friendliness: There’s a bar for adults, so be respectful and leave them at home.Wheelchair accessibility: There’s a ramp.

I wish I could give this place 5000 stars. Ordered the small set with a loose meat sandwich and cup of tomato soup, and shared dirty tots with my partner. It was so much food! I had never had a loose meat sandwich before so I can’t rate on authenticity, but it was delicious. You know you’re eating a good sandwich if you have to wash your hands halfway through. Bartender was also super sweet and efficient. Facilities were squeaky clean. We will definitely be back!
